This map layout allows the dominant team to quickly run over to the enemy base directly after the start of the game to delay the capture of the initial base. This gives their team the ability to capture their first base (usually the east armory) then rush over to capture the opposite team’s base. Once the dominant team is able to apprehend their base, it’s an automatic win for them. It forces them back into the corner of the map to spawn at their base (since they were unable to manage to capture even a single base). Although there are two exits out of said corner of the map, it is easy enough for the dominant team to cover both (especially with vehicles). Once the losing team is trapped in their spawn, the winning side can freely kill all the bosses to secure their win.
On the off chance neither team has figured this unfair strategy out yet, there are other general problems with the layout of this map. It also allows people to camp outside the “vehicle spawn” exits and instantly hijack them before the player who used it, has a chance to accelerate out of there. I have a clip of this exact thing happening, in my “captures.” Also the team who controls the garage base in the middle of the map can “snipe” the enemy bases since there is such a large straight view of both east and west armory.
I strongly believe this map should be removed from the game until these issues (especially the base being in the back corner of the map, creating a bottle-neck effect) are fixed. It creates unnecessary aggravation and disappointment in the Halo 5 community which results in people’s enjoyment levels plummeting down.
Not alone. It’s an extremely poorly designed map, and most of my friends also despise it. Unfortunately we’re going to be stuck with it indefinitely. Considering the flaws are with the structure of the map itself, we’ll never see this addressed.
The map is not big enough. Playing against a fireteam it’s even worse you get virtually the whole team head straight for your “safe” armoury. They can have it filled with enemy Spartans before your teammates even arrive cause they all were piss farting around trying to get those super important 25 VP. Whenever I play this map and I see only myself and maybe one or two teammates head straight for our armoury I know I’m in for a pounding.
In hindsight they probably should have made the map bigger but then again Warzone was meant to be the casual “have fun” mode, I’m not sure 343 expected highly organised Spartan Companies to own the playlist.
My advice:
NEVER enter warzone without a team of your own (if you got no friends playing at the time, go to www.halolfg.com and find one).
Also, ALWAYS use your mic, even when you don’t hear anybody else speaking, odds are they will listen to your callouts, and some might even start communicating themselves.

Agreed, playing Warzone alone is generally a bad idea. On topic, yes, Escape from ARC is just poorly designed.

Been grinding warzone assault with some players as a team, and I have to say communicating wasn’t even necessary in the slightest. It’s so obvious what to do and everything is so automated when u play with decent players. Additional communication is probably overkill…
There was another thread posted yesterday about this same topic. It’s good that more and more people are experiencing these same issues. It can’t be a coincidence and it isn’t.
I posted in the other thread already and my thoughts were to add another exit from the main bases leading to the tunnel. When the enemy team rushes the armory, they easily sit in front of the base hiding in the tunnel or in the safety of the armory and spawn camp relentlessly until the game is over. Outside the main base there is no -Yoink!- cover at all so you are basically stuck to the core room and the small covered areas around it.
It’s a shame because the majority of the map is pretty fun to play on but it just has this massive flaw with the layout that makes it so impossible to come back from a the enemy team capping your armory right off the start.
it does have a problem. they should be about the have a sneak around route. like a route to blue and red base and another route to the side that can get you from core base to warden spawn. this would make it so it wouldn’t be such an easy choke point. With at least Apex 7 you can sneak out the back which gives the team that is down a fighting chance. Except on WZA when its a terrible flaw to allow that because it makes it harder to defend than any other base for defenders on a map. but ya its a complete choke point for WZ on ARC
You have to be lucky that the enemy team actually kills the bosses, instead of spawn trapping you. The only reason for them to be successful is for your team to keep running outside.
Solution: Stick to the core room with a shotgun or whatever, they have to come inside to get kills.
I can’t remember the last time I actually played this map without it quickly turning into one team being pegged back into the base. There’s most definitely a problem with the layout of the map but I don’t know what they can do about it. An alternative exit from the base or some form of tunnel that takes you around to the other side of the map would have helped. It’s a shame because I like the map in general.
The Halo 4 style lines of sight (across the world and back) ruin this map - the reason spawn trapping is so easy, if that whoever controls the garage has a perfect view of all exit points from the armories. Spawning at the home base doesn’t help either, because as soon as you come out of the tunnels, you can easily be spotted from the back of the garage!
Whenever I get trapped inside the core base while playing a warzone game of Escape Arc I call in an Oni Scout Warthog and sometimes I actually escape all the gunfire, tank cannons, banshee bombs, spartan lasers, and wraith explosions while booking it out of my base, through the tunnel, around the garage and towards the opposite armory. Even if I capture the opposing armory it just gets taken back anyway because it doesn’t change the fact I am still stuck with a bunch of random idiots on my team…

Most of the time the randoms are not idiots. they are simply being matched against much better players. The organised teams are always Onyx and diamond level players. Of course matchmaking isn’t going to find another 12 players at that same level. So from the start. The 12 member has a huge advantage. Its equal to a 12 year old fighting a 5 year old. In no way is it a fair fight.

ARC is my favorite warzone map lol. I think it is perfect and super fun to play on. each team can rush the opposite armory equally as fast as the other so that makes it balanced. Just make sure that you clear your home base as fast as the other team and you should be able to defend your armory if 10 of them rush it.
