Would you like to see a return of the warzone game mode. What changes would you like to see made. What additions would you like to see implemented.

Warzone without Reqs yes. Random loot boxes are so bad for games so hopefully no req packs make it into halo again.
They need to make a game mode like invasion/dominion/War zone that doesn’t rely on req packs.
Never really cared for normal Warzone, after a while it just became a rushing game to see which team could destroy the enemies core faster… Now Warzone Firefight on the other hand I would love to see work more like the older Firefights.
-Shorter respawn times.
-A req system is fine, but it needs to be tuned a bit better. As it is, the req system basically rewards those who steal most of the kills. And while I understand first come first serve and they who are better just are; as someone who normally sits at the top of the leaderboard roughly 70-80% of the time in WZ FF, I can only imagine how bored everyone else must be watching people roll out with tanks and high req level stuff to wipe the floor with the AI while all they have is just AR’s, BR’s, and Pistols.
-Endless waves would be nice, none of this 5 minute per round for 5 rounds thing. Current WZ FF ends too quickly, Mythic ends even faster (but that’s because it’s upped in the difficulty factor, the short time you have just isn’t enough for most groups to complete an objective).
-Either rework defend/protect objectives or remove them. It’s far too common that Generator and Artifact protection rounds and Garage and Temple defense rounds end poorly because no one can get in to defend anything unless the difficulty is on Heroic.
Things like that.
But normal Warzone? Wouldn’t really care if it up and disappeared imo. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who like it, but I’m more on the side of FF than normal WZ. Personally I think I agree with ooblah10; just remove the objectives, keep in the random enemy spawns, and maybe either remove the reqs or rework them.
As it is now, I find Warzone to be a complete write off that runs counter to everything Halo is about.
That being said, it is possible to fix its main glaring flaws. So Warzone 2.0:
-No loadouts, Loadouts should only be a factor in PVE modes or niche gametypes(like say an Invasion variant).
-No Reqs or weapons/vehicles that can’t be contested. Aside from fixed base spawns that give each team some firepower to break out of a spawntrap, every weapon or vehicle should either be taken from AI or spawned at bases or other important locations. No one should be able to spawn a Scorpion at will.
-Bring back to Dominion concept of bases upgrading over time in order to keep the sense of escalation each Warzone game should have.
-Rather than simply scoring points to win, standard Warzone games should be a series of rotating objectives, that draw from classic Halo gametypes, Kill X number of enemy players, Kill X number of AI, Plant the bomb, capture the flag, extract the objective, Hold the Hill, secure the strongholds, etc. Team to complete the most objectives wins.
P.S. Get rid of the req/hero named weapons and just apply many of their unique traits to The standard weapons in a more balanced fashion. It was such a shame than many of Halo 5’s most unique and interesting weapon designs were hidden away as easter eggs or behind microtransactions…

As it is now, no. I don’t like reqs, rng and the fact you can buy them with cash makes it worse. If they remove rng reqs, it might be ok. It needs a rework imo, but as it stands ? No thank you.
I would like to see a return I think. The dynamic of pvpve, capturing and holding bases, and finally home base cores is a really solid combo. The only thing that sucked about WZ was the req system. If they somehow rebalance that, I’d love for it to return. That is as long as BTB doesn’t suffer from it like in H5. If I could only choose one or the other to be top quality I’d pick BTB.
I’d like the way warzone currently is but with a few changes and a number of more versions, something warzone I believe was lacking in. but as for suggestions to the base warzone gamemode:

the option to spend req points on defenses for a base. like a few extra marines that don’t respawn when killed, temporary auto turrets, shields doors, etc. - there should be a number of offensive marines that help you fight bosses and capture bases - for covenant themed maps the marines should be replaced with elites and maybe one or two maps where they are replaced with odst’s - no legendary boss should be splatter-able - human bosses/enemy ai, not just prometheans in human vehicles. think either a scorpion boss with innies protecting it or a rogue team of spartans where the team captain is the bossand as for those newer gamemodes I mentioned, some suggestions are below

warzone but without reqs, and items are on the map. except weapons and vehicles are part of random sets like the bosses - warzone fiesta. you don’t use your reqs, instead everyone has infinite random req cards but you still have to build up req levels and still spend energy on cards so that you aren’t immediatly using the highest level reqs at the beginning of the game. loadout weapons are also random but are also based on what req level you are. so if you’re at level 4 you might get a variety from brs to ars but no dmrs. - variant where one team has to complete a series of objectives like warzone firefight but the other team has to prevent them from completing said objectives. objectives would be randomly assigned. the objectives might be, protect a random member on your team from dying (they get an overshield), eliminate a random member on the enemy team (overshield), eliminate a boss, protect a location, conquer a location, or protect a convoy. then the last round would be 1 of 2 objectives similar to how titan fall games would end in which you either have to get to an evac ship and you have 1 life or you have to eliminate the enemy team within a certain amount of time while they have one life and ordance has been dropped for them. - some version of walker assault please. you can call it warzone convoy and just have to defend a mammoth or a heard of elephants or something.
and then unpopular opinion, but I think the req system would be fine as is as long as they remove permanent or cosmetic items from being randomized. one time use weapons/vehicles that can only be used in warzone seems totally reasonable to me. only other thing is there are a number of reqs that shouldn’t be there like nornfang simply because it’s just a straight up upgrade rather than a variant and all of those reskinned unsc vehicles that serve no purpose other than armor. to fix that part maybe just have 1 armored variant of the vehicles and lower it’s speed so it isn’t just an upgraded vehicle.
req variants should be actual variants rather than straight up upgrades so that the base weapons don’t become useless. take for example, the arrow of time. extra ammo but added recoil. or the ultra ghost, explosive plasma but slower rate of fire. if you add or upgrade one part then remove or downgrade another part. or just have function entirely different like the wraith and aa wraith.
Well I’d like to see a warzone mode without the a.i. straight up base capturing and not like assault. I’d also like to see the req centers be more specific. Meaning you can only get a vehicle out of a req center that has vehicle spawns. With some bases offer lower tier vehicles but not the heavies.
I also think it would be cool if they had a map that featured two massive ships hovering above serving as your home base. And when you go to assault the core you have to take the ship down. This would be a good way to bring back the falcon or some other troop carrying aircraft. Battlefield 2142 on the PC had an entire game mode like this and it was amazing.
Biggest problem with Warzone (apart from reqs, separate discussion) is the spawns. A game balance starts tipping and the spawn trap begins…
Fix that and fix a lot of the issues
The idea of warzone was interesting but honestly no, I don’t think it should be back.
I think warzone should be scaped entirely. REQs, loadouts, everything! and a greater focus should be put on BTB and Firefight. REQs and loadouts just don’t feel like Halo to me at all. I don’t feel they have a place in the game. When I played warzone, it just never felt like Halo. If they want to up the default player count in BTB to 12-12 or something, I’m fine with that and I think most people would be. Vehicle and weapon variants need to go away. We don’t need 3-5 different versions of things. If you want more weapons, just make entirely new ones. You could bring back some from past games too, like the sticky detonator and target locator. Image having something like the target locator in BTB? A HUGE item to fight over. Battles would be epic! Maybe it only spawns just a few times a match. You could have new game modes in BTB too. You could have a warzone type game mode in BTB if you wanted. A lot of possibilities here and in firefight too obviously.
In my mind you could do A LOT of things with firefight. You could easily have weapons that are in BTB and Firefight only. Same can be said with vehicles too. Halo Wars already has a bunch 343I could implement. Image the locust being in? Oh man!!
Anyways, to sum things up, 343I should expand BTB and Firefight game modes and weapons and vehicles for them. I’d scape Warzone, REQs, loadouts and weapon and vehicle variants.

Wz is love
I love warzone and hope it comes back. If it doesn’t I’d have to think long and hard about buying infinite. I do hope that they keep the req weapons but make the armor earnable by completing certain things. I think that would make the armors more “special”. But I like using the different variations of weapons. If you are going to have warzone with no reqs or have reqs that spawn only in certain locations then it’s just BTB not warzone. I know warzone is a new mode but it is fun and still one of the most popular modes in H5. I also hope warzone assult comes back.

Just want to point out that the biggest reason for its popularity is most likely the fact that it was the only mode in Halo 5 that offers the full weapon/vehicle sandbox of the game, combined with big open maps that have space to use them. If BTB had gotten the attention from 343 that it deserved, including being in the game at launch with comparably large, developer-made maps and a Heavies variant, like it had in previous Halo games but not Halo 5, then Warzone wouldn’t be the only thing in Halo 5 where you can get those things.
It’s cool that you find Warzone fun, but I don’t think the fact that it’s one of the most popular modes in Halo 5 can specifically be held up as an example of its success, when its competition was dead on arrival. It also doesn’t help that 343 made a sweet-looking armor set which can only be unlocked from Spartan Company commendations, and the most difficult of those commendations, marine kills, can only be completed in Warzone.
