I’d like to thank 343 for increasing the Warzone despawn timer from 5 seconds to 20 seconds. I needed only 4 Suppressor kills to complete the Suppressor, Forerunner Power Weapon Mastery, and Weapon Mastery Commendations. I started a game of Warzone on Escape From A.R.C. and picked up a Suppressor off of one of the initial Promethean Soldiers.
While capturing our Armory the enemy team rushed a group to counter capture and I got a Suppressor kill before dying to the rest of the rush group. I had used up all of my Suppressor REQs so if the despawn timer was still set to 5 seconds I’d have to wait for another game to try and complete the Commendations. My team managed to down the rest of the enemies that had rushed us and the Suppressor I had dropped was still there for me to pick back up. The enemy team sent another rush group and, again, I got off a Suppressor kill before falling to group fire. This repeated twice more and each time I was able to pick up the same Suppressor I had dropped when I was killed.
In the end, I finished the Suppressor Commendation and resulting Mastery Commendations, got my 3 Commendation Mastery REQ packs, and the additional 8000 experience points, but only because of the despawn timer increase that came in this update. The Infinity’s Armory update has made Warzone a much more fun experience for me and I hope everyone else has had a similar experience.
