I am questioning some of the design choices in Warzone, and this is just intended as my feedback. I’m sure I’ll have a whole ton of other people coming here to tell me why I’m wrong, but surprise surprise, this is my OPINION and FEEDBACK.
Firstly, why is it that the final hit on a boss gets full credit? I mean, from a lore standpoint it would make more sense that whoever puts the most effort into killing the boss should be given credit for the kill, because they are training these Spartans. They would naturally reward the team who put the most effort into taking down the boss, not the team who fired one bullet at it. From a gameplay perspective, there is absolutely nothing fun about doing all the work… being the one who is PLAYING the game and FIGHTING that boss alongside your team, only for some random enemy player across the map to take a pot shot at the boss and get the last shot, and his team gets full credit.
Why not change it so that you get 1.5 VP per 1% of damage your team does to the boss? This would drive people to have more reason to attack the boss no matter where they are. It would make it worthwhile to throw all the damage onto the boss you can. Having it so that the final shot gets full credit is nothing but frustrating, and just generally stupid. Just make it so that no matter what you get rewarded for the time you put into doing things in the game, rather than the current system which makes it feel like you wasted your time and just gets on your nerves when you did all the work only for the enemy team to take all the credit for the kill.
Second, why are the elites/soldiers able to be run over? It’s an incredibly cheap tactic that makes the entire idea of having these enemies around pointless because some guy comes in with a ghost and just runs over the boss and gets instant credit. You can’t hijack or board boss vehicles presumably because that would make them too easy, so why can you splatter kill them?
Those are my only real current issues other than what I said in a separate thread about map design and all that.
