Warzone cheap tactics?

Am I the only one disgusted about the really cheap maneuver people use every warzone game where half the enemy team splits up and runs to your armory to capture it? It’s understandable that it;s a really good strategy (the spartan company I’m in does it often) to win but it’s getting a little annoying now since every game it happens. Each warzone match only lasts 10 minutes, if I wanted to play a extremely short warzone match I would play assault. I don’t even see much of a point now in using any of the RP or XP boosts when I start a match anymore. Will 343 ever address this issue or is it “a part of the game I’ll just have to get over”?

This doesn’t sound like a support issue, but rather a discussion about matchmaking. Your best bet is to take this topic to the Matchmaking Feedback forum, or the Halo 5 forum:

This reminds me of the crouch strafing complaint thread.

It’s a legit tactic man; play in with friends and maybe you’ll have a better chance at saving your armory. Besides, if your team is good you can defend your armory pretty easily.

You team don’t even have to be good they just all have to shoot the 6 or so people that assault your armory when you have about 10

You are right. Get over it.

Can’t very easily complain about a tactic and also admit to doing it yourself!
What? Its okay for you and not others?
Yes, its annoying, I hate it. But it is unfortunately part of the game and its not like 343i can do anything about it anyways.

So in a gametype that states at the beginning of every game “kill bosses, capture bases, and kill enemy spartans to score points.” you take offense that opponents are trying to capture bases?

So your opponents are preventing you from getting a foothold and have a better chance themselves of taking all 3 bases and keeping you from spawning on the field right? I have to agree with others, legitimate strategy. If a few players can slow down the opposing team’s progress they are helping their team. I will often try to do it, even if just to delay the opposing team a few moments so my team can get established first and go for other objectives.

What’s you’re spartan companies name? so I can put them in my hit list

get over it, if you have a team of 12 you wont sit by and hold yourself back, so your enemy get time to wake up, common this is called WARZONE, the moment the game starts means all or nothing

It is annoying, however its part of the game.
You should try it and see how the other team likes it.

you just need a better team to play with and to work as a team to hold it, otherwise you just lose, team work is everythink

“cheap”, lol, that’s a real tactic…

It’s annoying, but pretty much every time we clear the base out, and I play with randoms.

It’s not cheap, it’s strategy. End of story.

Had a match like that last night, they went straight for the armory closest to us. They capped all bases twice that match as they were a full company against a bunch of randoms. We ended up winning as we went after all the bosses while they focused on the bases.
It’s a tactic I see more and more of since most teams focus on the center base making it easier to take over a smaller one.

Considering warzone is meant to be the casual side of Halo (or last I heard it was), it does seem like an unsportsmanlike tactic. What if I just want to finish work and jump online without timing it in with all of my friends, who likewise have random playing hours, so that I don’t need to take the game tactically seriously and just enjoy two teams playing against each other with a good sportsman attitude.
I’m not complaining about losing, that happens, but when two in three games go like that, and then half my team bail because they are probably fed up with it as well. And then the enemy team camps our core to spawn kill us without just destroying the core for like a full 10 mins.
It probably doesn’t help on top of that, that half the time my req points won’t work these days.

You complain about a tactic yet admit doing it yourself? It’s a good idea and it helps control the bases to guarantee a win. I only have issues with these people when they decide to prolong the game more than it should, but other than that it’s a legitimate tactic. The best thing to do is either you leave, prevent it, or put up with it. Boosting isn’t going to stop, when people realize they have an advantage within the rules they take it and until some kind of mercy rule is added or people are given an incentive to not boost than you’re just going to have to put up with it like everyone else

Maybe another 1000 points in Warzone will be better like in BF4.
The Warzone game-type is going to be Warzone 2K or Warzone Extended.

Cheap tactic = something that doesn’t required much effort
Capping enemy base at start = 6v12, getting there before they cap it, and holding it before all 6 die because once you’re dead you’re not getting back in time. Yeah that’s almost the opposite of not much effort.
