Since I am a big capture a flag fan where that would be playing ctf in team arena or playing castle wars I feel like in my opinion warzone capture the flag would fun to play and be very interesting to play to but I do agree it would be pretty easy to farm in capture so I like to here yall thoughts on this and how would you build warzone capture the flag ?
I don’t think it would work too well. Right now, the good thing about Warzone is that there are always multiple objectives to focus on, ie., bases to capture, bosses to take down, and Spartans to kill. That means that everyone is collectively thinking about more than one thing the entire match.
Problem with CTF in WZ is that you’ll have 24 players all focused on getting one object. The only viable strategy would be to spam speed, camo, and OS boosts to be able to bring the flag back. Otherwise, the enemy team would be able to play very good defense and take down any potential flag carrier easily. That would be bland in terms of strategy and variety. That’s how I see it, at least.
For comparison, take BTBCTF. You have 16 players going for the flag with loadout weapons, a few vehicles, a few power weapons, and boosts. It’s all about map control since those items will help immensely in getting the flag. But, not everyone has immediate access to those items like in WZ which means players are focused on multiple parts of the map again. That spread of focus is what makes those matches fun. If everyone could simply choose what tools they wanted, it wouldn’t be much fun.
How would it work in Warzone? Would you need to capture all the bases to get the enemies flag?
Or would capturing the flag be another alternative to winning the game? Like in addition to earning points over the course of the game or destroying the enemy’s core.
I would argue warzone assault basically does this. It’s a one sided ctf basically
Here’s how it could work:
First it needs to be multi-flag with each home base having a flag to capture.That way team are spread out playing either defense and offense.
Secondly, all other bases start off neutral like normal and you can hold a base or take over an opposing teams base.
However here’s the twist, you can score points by capturing a flag by bringing it back to any base your team holds but, score more points by bringing it all the back to the home base. The base held by your team closest to the opponent’s home base scores the least amount for a flag captured, But you’re closer to grabbing another flag.
And the score stills plays to 1000.
What you think? I know there can be some improvements to this idea but I think it keeps players busy and everyone can still have an objective outside of just rushing one base.
No to capture the flag in a traditional game…however it would be awesome to have a flag out in a neutral location guarded by a bunch of Covies or Prometheans and a team can score how ever many points by getting it to their core. That would be be pretty sweet IMO.
