Through my weekend of playing Halo 5 Warzone, I have been repeatedly frustrated by Boss Takedowns seemingly being stolen away at the last lifepoint by the enemy team. It seems common to have superior and more consistent firepower on a boss when it is defeated only to have the opposing team be credited for the kill.
Has anyone else had a problem with seemingly one man with a BR being able to steal a kill away from your team utilizing superior and more consistent firepower?
Is this how boss takedowns are supposed to work, or is there some sort of busted algorithm that is supposed to award the kill based on DPS at the boss’s last lifepoint?
Should we expect a change in how these boss kills are handled?
As it stands right now, Warzone can be frustrating unfair when attempting scores from boss takedowns (do not get me started on the control point capturing process).
Warzone needs an overhaul.
Base captures should be determined by a weighted list: if there are more Attackers then Defenders (maybe at least 2+ more Attackers then Defenders) then the base should slowly be captured albeit at a slower rate then normal. Too many times in Warzone have we lost because of a single Defender camping in a corner waiting for his buddy, or the fact if a single Defender gets through the Base Capture Lockdown we place the capture is automatically contested.
As for Legendary Bosses it is frustrating indeed. I feel like the points should be split along a damage ratio. X amount of points awarded to Blue Team for dealing X% of damage and the rest is given to the Red Team for example.
I have blown the -Yoink!- out of Warden Eternal, knew I got the kill for it to say “DEFEAT” as the enemy apparently got the last 150 VP needed to win by killing the Promethean…
…with a BATTLE RIFLE
It seems consistent that when my team is surrounding a boss, simultaneously assaulting from all sides, the boss victory gets awarded to the enemy team.
Kill = Kill.
Here’s the scenario. Enemy team has two players. Your team has eight players. You’re all rocking battle rifles. If this is the case there should be a 1/4 chance they’ll kill the boss.
Now let’s go by your scenario. Your team has multiple players, we will say eight. You guys have Spartan lasers, tanks, ghosts, etc. The enemy team has one player. Your team has a lot more firepower so as you can imagine the odds you’ll kill the boss are a lot greater than that dude with a BR. Something like 1/20 he will steal the kill. If this happens to you a lot it is simply bad RNG. Now I’m sure you’re exaggerating to the extreme (Which really discredits your initial claim) meaning there was probably a two sided fight happening where they had more players and more fire power. Believe it or not, having one player there should still give that player a small shot at killing the boss.
If your team wasn’t participating in a boss kill you’d rather have no chance? Nah. This ruins gameplay. This is why 343 went with a kill is a kill and this is why no matter how much the tiny portion of the community wants it, it won’t happen. If a player is attacking a boss he will always have a chance for the kill. That is how it should be. It’s a team effort but when it comes down to it, it’s really every man for himself for the boss kill.
