This issue needs to addressed, when you do a considerable amount of damage to a boss and then your team kills it and you don’t get credit, that’s an insane problem. That needs to be fixed
I will often do hardly any damage to the boss, but I end up getting credit for the kill. Other times I will do most of the damage but get not so much as a “thanks for the help!”
How you get credit for the kill is something of a mystery, the only thing I know for certain is that if you score the last shot, then you will get the credit. Maybe it doesn’t need to be fixed, but at least a little clarification on how you get the assist is needed.
The boss kills are really weird. Sometimes I would shoot a boss 2-3 times, then I would get killed, and suddenly get a medal telling me I got the takedown.

Yes same for me I think it works out by the amount of damage you inflict.
Something is wonky at times. I used a fuel rod gun on Knight Strategos, the only player inflicting damage, everyone else (both teams) was doing something else. Took him down to almost nothing, then while reloading, a guy from the other team shot him once with a sniper rifle from across the map and got the kill. Not just frustrating, but weird - no credit for doing over 90% of the work?

I got awarded the Legendary Boss kill without even damaging them once.
They should publish the criteria for this. It’s bad that one does most of the damage, and while reloading the boss is killed and one gets no credit. Other times, I have been killed and have gotten credit… Too many variables. Please publish the criteria for boss kill awards.
On other occasions, it would tell me I got a boss takedown, but the boss wouldn’t be recorded in the list of takedowns on my service record.

I agree.
I hate this so much
This is such a simple thing for 343i to explain without having to actually consider changing anything that they will ignore it.
This would be so easy to explain that they could probably do it over Twitter. In fact, that may be a better way to ask.
Warden eternal has to be the worst. So many players put some much firepower on him and in the end it’s like a coin was flipped to decide who won.
