Warzone Basics

This is more for the newer players, but if you’re a vet please add to the list in the comments! These are my Warzone basics. I could elaborate my routine per map as they slightly vary but we all play differently. Below are some universals.

7 Warzone Basics:

  • Take the central structure, first and foremost*. Only 1 person is needed to cap the initial armory. Ignore all enemy bosses until this is done. - Every 30 seconds, look to see the status of your bases. If your base shield icon is flashing, get back there and defend. - Anti-Air is your number 1 priority when you see an enemy Banshee, Phaeton, or Wasp. They will turn the tide if left flying. If the whole team focused fire for 1 minute, that Banshee Ultra would have never ended up racking 20+ kills, scored a boss kill and turned the tide of the game against you. And that beginning REQ 3 Wasp will be the difference of whether your team takes the Spire or not. Swat it out of the sky. - If your team is backed into your last armory and you’re about to loose it: head for the furthest base and capture the enemy’s armory. Put that Scout Hog to use! The enemy is focused on rushing your remaining base so channel your inner lone wolf (or god forbid, use a mic and coordinate with a teammate) and cap that distant base. I’ve solo’d this sooo many times, it keeps your team in the game that much longer. - If things are going south and a teammate parks a gungoose / gauss hog in the back of your base / core and is on the gun / grenade-ing, don’t get in and drive it. They are laying down fire and defending. All you are doing is dooming your team by wasting an asset (and really -Yoink!- off your teammate). - Support the Scorpion. Be near it, walk behind it, it’s a great all-range suppression asset. And for Pete’s sake don’t stand on top of main turret… that’s just rude. - REQ’s are your friend. Don’t horde those power weapons – an Arclight will Drop anything flying in roughly 2 shots. And bosses really don’t like incineration cannons. Getting overrun? Blaze of Glory is basically an insta-kill, so camp an entrance, hold the base and rack ‘em up. *In the case of “Battle of Noctus” – at the start of the game, I immediately head for the left armory and solo it. Snag a PP from the dead grunt and pop the two elites. Guard the top floor central entry as you’re almost guaranteed someone from the other team will be going through it. By the time you’ve secured the base, the Monument should still be in contention.

Agreed.

Not a bad list, these are pretty good tips.
