Warzone BALANCE Patch ideas

To put it short, Halo 5’s Warzone (PvP) is THE MOST UNBALANCED THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!

The moment one team is winning, THEY WILL ALWAYS WIN! What was 343 thinking when they were making this?!

"So yeah we’re going to make a game type that makes DARK SOULS more balance. The more points you have, the higher level REQ you can get. Meaning that if you get REQ LVL. 3 before the enemy team you can use your ghost to run over any bosses on the enemies side, steal their chances for leveling up their REQ and 1:30 minutes in the game you will have, ONE HANNIBAL SCORPION, ONE ONI MANTIS, ONE ONI WASP, TWO PHATONS, ONE ANTI-AIR WRAITH, AND ONE ULTRA BANSHEE.

One strategy you could use is to hold all but one base, AND KILL ALL OF BEFORE THEY CAN READY THEIR WEAPONS! WE WON’T EVEN PUT SHEILDS AT THE OPENINGS OF THE BASES SO THAT YOU CAN SHOOT INSIDE THE BASE FROM EVERY ANGLE.

Now I know the enemy might try to use power weapons against you, you know, so they can fight back. WELL WE’RE GOING TO MAKE IT EASIER TO KEEP WINNING! JUST KILL THEM ONCE, AND THEIR REQ WILL BE WASTED AND SINCE THE RECHARGE SPEED FOR REQ IS SLOW AS -Yoink- FOR THE WINNING AND LOSING TEAMS, YOU WON’T DOWNS ANY REQ BECAUSE YOU’VE NEVER DIED THEIRS ARE ALWAYS AND WE’LL CALL THAT BALANCE!" -343 Industries

I know they made this system to reward the winning team, but there is a difference between “Rewarding the winning team and doing nothing to the losing team” and “Giving the winning team everything and saying ‘F*** YOU!!’ to the losing team.”

I personally would suggest:

•Adding sheilds to the entry ways of all bases

•Bring back the Automated Turrets from HALO 4’S Domain game type

•Keep the REQ level gain the same (Winning team has access to higher lvl), but make it so that the losing team regain their REQ POINTS faster ( How fast would depend on how much they’re losing).

Feel free to add your suggestions.

I’ve had several games where I was triple capped, and through teamwork and (camo and ghosts) we capped the middle base, one armory, and then won.

One time we were tripled, losing 300 to 900, and we capped two bases simultaneously (two good players were distracting the enemy while 4 of us capped garage and far armory on ARC), capped the third base, and cored and won 1000 to 990.

It’s not impossible to come back; I’d argue warzone is the best type of game for a comeback (sneaky cap, triple cap, bosses, etc)

I think warzone is fine, if you have issues play warzone assault. Or find a team

OP why do you write in capitals, wouldn’t it be better to make things bold to stand out?

Very false. The winning team is NEVER guaranteed a win until it happens

Dont be one of those players who quits as soon as they don’t cap the middle base or dont kill the first legendary boss…

For some reason my pad was glitch and the options didn’t appear. So I just cap locked.

Fair enough.

As long as the score is somewhat close, either team can win because the final boss kill will determine the outcome, but for more lopsided games I’d agree with you.

Yeah, I only saw one game that flip in the end when the enemy got the center base in the start. And it was by killing Warden Eternal.
The game pretty much ends when one team gets the center base in start.

I disagree with this since it will make the game finish when one side gets 2 bases. It will be very hard for the other team to take over the base to flip the game

I don’t understand why people think this. Some maps are tough to win if the enemy caps the middle base (like ARC and Sanctum), but most arent. Storm break and apex 7 are very easy to win without the middle base. A base gives you 1 pts per 5 seconds, so 12 per min. This can easily be countered by bosses.

That’s true. Well I didn’t played Apex 7 that much but if enemy took the middle base it means usually opponent players have better skills so it will be very hard for you to flip. And players can spawn with vehicles in center bases instead of core so they can keep press with REQs.

My friends and I have beaten both allegiance and 2pros from coordinating better (were 3 and 0 with the latter and 1 and 0 with allegiance). Man to man, they’re probably better, but teamwork and coordination will beat most teams

Why does one have to be forced to find a team just to have a realistic chance of winning?

  1. When enemy team captures neutral centre base, your team gains 1 req level and 1 req energy refill.
  2. When enemy team triple capture bases, your team gains two req levels and 2 energy refills every time it happens.
  3. Join in progress players gain 1 req level on first spawn. This will fix the no req energy bug, and they need req levels to get them going.
  4. When enemy triple caps, base capture for your team is reduced from 20 seconds to 10 seconds. Reduced time is removed as soon as you capture a base, and on going captures will go back to 20 seconds but keep the same % capture.
  5. If an enemy holds the centre base and another base for 5 straight minutes, reduce capture time by 5 seconds for your team. 10 second reduction if enemy holds for 8 minutes. Minimum cap is 10 seconds.
  6. Attack on Sanctum removed from warzone rotation until the map is balanced to allow 50% win rate for both teams, currently its about 62:38 for red to blue team. If not, man cannons going from the Temple to the Garages need to be removed because its too easy to reinforce a base, making for stale gameplay and red team can just camp entrances and win.

I believe that my points would help with what the OP is trying to get at to help reduce blow out games and make it fairer for both winning, losing and join in progress player.

(Bold) 343I was thinking they could make a mode that could make them money. Of course Warzone is unbalanced, just look at it! Someone could have the
Phaeton unlocked and everyone else might not for example. So they have a huge advantage right away. It’s all about busting out the most powerful weapon, vehicle ect. The first chance you get. If you don’t have any of those, they want you to buy packs to get more. Don’t have REQ points, then they’re hoping people will spend real money to buy some packs and Unfortunately a lot of people have. Because of this the REQ System isn’t going anywhere and will be in future Halo games I’m betting.

343I was hoping Warzone would replace BTB, thank goodness people haven’t let this happen by being vocal about wanting BTB. I hope BTB gets restored to its former glory in Halo 6, because it was kicked to the curb in Halo 5 in my opinion. Good thing we have such great forgers to help keep BTB alive.

There is absolutely nothing you can do to make Warzone balanced, I don’t understand why some people can’t see this. It wasn’t meant to be balanced in the first place. My advice would be to not play it minus WZFF.

You nailed it. Warzone can’t be balanced. Whenever a game allows one player to have a one shot kill weapon while someone else has a br, there can never be balance. Warzone was designed to sell reqs. It’s about as balanced as super fiesta. Well it pretty much is super fiesta except you pick the weapon.

Domain + WZ actually sounds really cool. Might make it even harder to make a comeback though. Maybe the team that has only one base could get shields and turrets but the team that has two bases only get either turrets or shields. Maybe nothing at all. Would love to test it out.

> To put it short, Halo 5’s Warzone (PvP) is THE MOST UNBALANCED THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!

We have to acknowledge 343 efforts to balance warzone and REQ system. Yes, it’s still unbalanced but they are listening and trying to fix it.

> Meaning that if you get REQ LVL. 3 before the enemy team you can use your ghost to run over any bosses on the enemies side, steal their chances for leveling up their REQ

Steal? Yes, some bosses appear near enemy bases, but they doesn’t belong to the certain team. You don’t even have to wait to lvl 3, a lvl 1 warthog can do the job to splatter bosses.

Please don’t exaggerate if you want us to take us seriously. There is no way you can get you can get all that vehicles in the current implementation of warzone. Unless you were talking about warzone turbo, but you will also have 9 REQ lvl and be able to spawn any weapon or vehicle.

> I know they made this system to reward the winning team, but there is a difference between “Rewarding the winning team and doing nothing to the losing team” and “Giving the winning team everything and saying ‘F*** YOU!!’ to the losing team.”

If you are playing against a team, you can’t do much if you don’t have a team, you probably will be triple cap and get a core defeat, or get farmed.
Most players focus on only to kill spartans, they ignore bosses and even bases. If you play to get the victory you need to get to 1000 points first or destroy the enemy core.
I suggest you to play with a team if you want to play for the victory; focus to get middle base early game, as other said, each base gives 1 point per second and its the most difficult to recapture. The bosses apear every two minutes you must be aware of the timing if you want to kill the AI to get req lvl and points.

Because is a 12 vs 12, it’s extremely difficult to carry 11 randoms to victory.
