Warzone and why your team mates hate your tanks

Just like to start off with when it comes to big team style matches I like to play more support bringing in vehicle’s and power weapons. Naturally Warzone is that mode on Halo 5, so I join all ready with my REQ packs tailored as such to help the team.

So here’s the real annoyance ive found. I spawn a tank because we need to balance it out and our team is getting dominated within 2 mins of rolling out im being teamnaded and shot at for no reason, in a seperate game I even get spartan lasered at point blank and more grenades. Can someone explain why or am I resigned to not playing this mode till they disable friendly fire? Its kind of ridiculous I try and help and people feel the need to get all jealous and ruin our chances of winning or fighting back. Sorry about the rant first post and I really needed to get this addressed.

TLDR Stop shooting my tanks when im trying to help out thanks

A teammate started shooting my Warthog as soon as I rolled out last night. Didn’t jump in, just started shooting it. Never figured out why.

Sorry, I hope this was a one case incident as I haven’t experienced it although I’ve only spawned 1 tank and a few banshees

The other thing I’d like to add is I’ve actually ended up shooting my teammates in vehicles as I’ve found it hard to determine if it is a friend or enemy. How do you guys determine this? Especially at distance.

Friendly Fire is off, or else I would’ve gotten betrayals by now

Is friendly fire enabled in Warzone? I assumed it wasn’t being its more socially oriented. I haven’t committed any betrayals yet, and haven’t tried to avoid doing so either.

The fact that I spawned and got team killed by a tank says otherwise.

I thought FF was disabled in Warzone? You can still splatter teammates but weapons shouldn’t hurt them. Unless it doesn’t apply to vehicles.

I think friendly is off but not vehicular damage it seems I wish I recorded some of it. It puts me off using them its a waste of a card and being rare means I have to work even harder to get it back

Vehicles are special for FF.

  1. You can still splatter a teammate with it off.

  2. Teamfire can still damage vehicles with it off.

  3. You can save a teammate’s life by destroying their vehicle and ejecting them instead of the enemy destroying it and getting a kill. As shields can drop due to an explosion or already be, the teammate may still perish, but you tried.

Some players can only have their habits curbed, not stopped. );

Sure you weren’t spawn killed by the other team? I know I was shooting and killing enemies, while in a wraith yesterday, with teammates right next to them and never committed a betrayal.

It does not make to much sense to me. sorry to hear about that

That’s very odd. But I think its difficult to identify enemy/friendly vehicles in H5.

Sometimes it’s difficult for people to distinguish between friendly and enemy vehicles I think because their name tag turns yellow and red when firing/being fired at.

Are there penalties in place for targeting team operated vehicles, if not there should be!. In the past I’ve seen players that were glory hounds that either felt vehicles were “NOOB” weapons or “OP” and were seemingly afraid they wouldn’t be able to get the top kills against them. BTB is the arena where any asset that helps bring victory to a team should be embraced!

I agree on that point! It could very well be a temporarily disoriented player!

Great to know, thanks!
