Since Warzone was announced back at E3 of last year, it had became a very hyped mode, hype that sadly it did not live up to. The Req system was also hyped as being this kind of micro-transaction system that would get rid of the need of paid dlc as well as not limit things behind a pay wall. While the Req system has been successful in those areas, it is still far from perfect and has glaring flaws that need to be fixed. Here I have though of some fixes for both Warzone and the Req system.
WARZONE:
One fix that needs to be addressed is the lack of gamemodes, currently there are only two with a third on its way, but Warzone should be made adaptable with other modes like Oddball or CTF, or even Assault. Heck bring back modes like Invasion or Generator Defense from Reach and adapt them for Warzone. This would make them more varied and could easily feel that BTB niche that Halo 5 has yet to fill.
Another fix would be to add forge support to not only Warzone, but to add Warzone assets to Forge. Allowing us to make our own Warzone maps while giving us full access to the Req system outside of matchmaking so that we can atleast test out the new weapons and get a feel for them, actually making it worth working to earn them to use in matchmaking, you could even give us the ability to edit how much Req energy it will cost to buy each Req as well as the level for which they will appear, giving us full customization to play Warzone anyway we want.
One final fix would be to make all of the modes for Warzone work on all Warzone maps rather then to make Warzone variants for each mode, this is where Forge support would come in handy making it easier to block off areas that won’t be used in other modes as well as fiddling with the respawns and other features.
Finally Warzone should be able to be played offline and in customs rather than be limited to just matchmaking and the Warzone maps themselves should not be limited to the Warzone gametype, allowing Forgers to take advantage of those big maps to make insane 12v12 modes of other gametypes, like maybe a large 12v12 Grifball arena or a Warzone infection gametype ect. This I feel would make Warzone far better in the long run, also one final improvement would be bosses, let there be more variety in bosses and actually make actual bosses rather then strengthening a Wraith or a Banshee, why not allow us to fight a Linch or a Scarab, as a boss?
REQ. SYSTEM:
A easy fix for the Req system would be to separate the Cosmetic items from the actual gameplay changing items, Why not split the Req packs into two categories, 1 for Arena and 1 for Warzone, and each category could still have the 3 basic color packs of Bronze, Silver and Gold, its just that Req packs pertaining to Warzone would only unlock Warzone only items like weapon certifications, loadout weapons, vehicle variants ect. while the Arena packs would unlock the cosmetic items like armor, weapon skins, assassinations ect. and really that would be the only change in that department.
A second fix would be to split the reqs from common to mythic throughout the different colors, for example, a bronze pack would only give you common to uncommon reqs while Gold for instance would give you ultra rare to mythic, and maybe you could make it where if you are not paying for the higher tier packs like silver or gold and are using the ingame currency then you will have to unlock the other tier through ranking up and buying the bronze packs until you have completed all of the common to uncommon reqs.
Another fix would be to make the req pack you earn through ranking up have a chance of giving you something good rather then just being a way tor replenish your req supply.
Finally on certain occasions like holidays or special events the price for the reqs for both ingame req points and actual money should be reduced to give more incentive to play on those specific days.
This is my ideas to make these features better for Halo 6 and beyond, if anyone have any better ideas or see problems with my fixes please post your responses.
