After I completed the Halo 3 last mission, the warthog run again, I though I ask you, which warthog do you prefer? What should be the hog in the H5G?
I liked the HCE hog, and I think it was the best, but the H3 hog was horrible, it was so annoying in the last mission. The H2 and Reach hogs were not so bad but not the best, they were almost the H3 warthog. So that’s my opinion about Halo wathogs.
What did you think?
I think you’re in the wrong forum, because this is the one for MCC and not H5 but back to your question:
I prefer Reach’s hogs gameplay wise because if you had a good driver you could do perfection after perfection(especially with the gaus hog), but if you had a bad one there was no chance of survival…
I also like the HCE ones because they were indestructible and had the best rocket hog (especially in terms of color, because this black/yellow design was awesome) in my opinion
Why isn’t Halo 4’s Warthog an option?
I liked it, it was steady and good looking.

Because it blows up at the drop of a hat.

You are right we should go back to vehicles giving out sprees…and no it does not, sticks on spawn make it seem that way.
The sound of the Halo 4 warthog made me wanna jump in a lake. I never liked it. I prefer Halo CE or the Halo 2 hog.

No it doesn’t. People having stickies 24/7 make it feel that way.
Also, it’s the most stable to drive, would do amazing in the Halo 3 final run I’d imagine.

The Reach Warthog was weaker and more unstable. That thing would go flying if you hit a slight bump.
Vehicle combat in general needs to be improved, but overall the Halo 4 Warthog is the “heaviest” Warthog, as in most stable. It doesn’t flip end over end if you make a sharp turn.

I’d disagree, Halo 4’s Warthog drove like an overweight pig and was easily destroyed since they swapped the actual armor with paper. The general look wasn’t too good either, looked too “junky” to me.
But that’s just how I saw it. I personally think Halo: Reach perfected the general LOOK of the Hog but the driving was a cross between Halo 2-3-Reach.

Exactly my problem with the Halo 4 warthog.
Moving this thread to the Hal 5 Guardians Forums.
Carry on!
H1 Warthog. The physics make no sence, splattering is super OP, but it was smoother than any of the series’ other hogs. Haven’t played H2 in a while though; I remember fondly how hilarious the warthog looked after it took a shitton of damage on Easy.
I like the Halo 4 warthog. It is actually somewhat tough and handles decently. The vehicles in Reach generally sucked.
The Warthog in Halo 4 was actually the most stable. Reach’s Warthogs might as well have been made in like paper thin wafers. I don’t understand why 4’s Warthog isn’t an option.
I actually liked the Halo 4 warthog engine sound, granted it was a little loud and OTT now I come to think about it, it sounds much more like a mongoose (because its essentially a quad bike).
I think the Halo 4 warthog sound makes the warthog feel powerful albeit a little too overwhelming at times.
I think Halo 3 was the perfect balance for vehicles, including the Warthog. If not H3, then Halo 2.
My only problem with Reach’s hog was the lack of decent chain gun. But even then, there was no better game for collecting wheelman, roadhog, or sunday driver sprees.
Also, 2/3/Reach had a balanced amount of heavy weapons and other vehicles, so you had to fear the Hog, but you also had some options for taking it down. Halo 4 did this totally the wrong way, with far too many power weapons, sticky grenades, and more powerful vehicles, essentially making the H4 hog a deathtrap.
As for the handling, I can understand why people like 4’s handling. It was the most stable to date. BUT, it was also out of keeping with past iterations. The Halo hog has always been a bit loose, and a bit bouncy in the suspension. I don’t want that to change.
My ideal: Reach’s handling, 3’s chain gun, and CE’s engine sound.
As a driver, I thought Reach had the best hog for driving. If you were good it showed, if not it showed. Too bad it was made of paper. 4 was alright, but it wasn’t as fun to drive.
Halo3 hog best hog. Sure it was relatively unstable, but in a fun and rewarding way. If you could keep it from flipping and walk away with Wheelman after wheelman you had some driving prowess. Plus flipping a billion times was really really fun. I never had a problem with the last mission in halo3, still my favorite warthog level.
I absolutely can’t stand the CE hog or any of the other vehicles in the game (except the Banshee, that’s wonderful). It’s one of the most horrible things I’ve ever driven in a video game, on the level of the cars in all those generic racing games.
The Halo 2 hog never stood out to me, I’m not a fan of the paper Reach hog at all, and the ugly Halo 4 hog is even worse. I definitely prefer the Halo 3 hog in terms of function and design. It’s my favourite.
