Warthog, tank, and mantis variations

For the different variations of warthogs, tanks and mantises, there is a description detailing how one is different from the other. However, sometimes the only difference is that one variation has upgraded armor and another has extra armor. What is better the one with extra armor or upgraded armor? Please explain

Generally the farther right the REQ is the better it is, I’m pretty sure. Thibgs like the Sword Hog aren’t in that scale obviously but it does work for the basic variants.

I’m pretty sure it’s the same. Whoever wrote the descriptions probably forgot to be consistent with their terms.

EDIT:
Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but my best guess is:
( upgraded armor = extra armor ) < heavy armor

This is a good rule of thumb to use but in the end it usually isn’t that huge of a difference.
