In my opinion, the Warthog gunner takes way too much damage, to the point where I noticed it’s easier to kill a gunner than it is to kill a guy on a mongoose. In Warzone the Warthog is somewhat useful because the maps are so large and you can pop in and out of cover and harass the enemy. In Big Team Battle, the regular Warthog is basically useless. The gunner gets instantly targeted down from range or sniped out. My Brother and I loved playing Big Team in previous games because you could get in a warthog and do pretty well. Now you are lucky to even get a kill, at least in BTB.
Does anyone notice this as an issue, and how do you think they could fix it?
I’m OK with the way the gunner is killed, I am very confused as to the mechanics on enemy hit detection and vehicles… Or perhaps the too much value added to Mongooses when there Scout 'Hogs for similar purposes.

When in a vehicle, shooting a driver of a Mongoose directly usually appears to just translate into the armour of the vehicle. Confusing because the gunner is as vulnerable as they are in a 'Hog.
I’ve Ultra Ghosted and Bansheed the heck out of some Mongooses that required destruction of the vehicle, though clearly I was hitting the occupants.

Teammates using a vehicle to take down a boarding opponent on another vehicle transfer damage to the friendly vehicle, or simply do not hit the enemy.
So, it’s OK for the way the 'Hog is, but it’s not OK for the way the vehicles as a whole jive. The Scout 'Hogs are there to allow what the Mongooses/Gungooses seem to also allow.

Damage to the player in a vehicle does seem very off. I just do not think that the gunner should be so vulnerable. The protection plate on the gun in halo 3 and reach gave way more cover than the 343 version.
didnt halo 4 have that same problem where the damage of the player directly translated into damage of the vehicle
