After a long convo with a Supervisor from Live Support i was told some interesting information i have copied and pasted the whole convo with the Supervisor

Melinda: My name is Melinda, I am a supervisor, and I will be helping you today. Do you mind if I take a minute to look over your issue? I will get right back to you.

you: sure

Melinda: Just to make sure I understand your issue. Which charge are you wanting refunded please.

Melinda: Are you requesting a refund of your War Games Pass please?

Melinda: Matthew I am sorry that we currently experiences some issues with the Crimson Map pack but we are working on a resolution.

you: i bought my war games pass a number of days ago to get map packs upon release but after release i was forced to wait a minimum of 9 hours to get my content after that i was informed that people who DID NOT purchase the War Games pass or Limited Edition version of the games where getting the Crimson Map Pack for nothing due to a glitch in the marketplace what i am after is a refund of my war games pass or a partial refund to cover the cost of the Map pack which was made free to everybody due to a mistake on your end

Melinda: Matthew we are currently working a a resolution for the Crimson Map pack issue.

Melinda: Matthew I am checking the War Games pass to see all content included in that pass.

you: so what are you going to do about the fact myself and many other gamers paid for the content, just to be made free to thousands of people because of a mistake or a glitch in the system

Melinda: Content includes “Crimson, Majestic & Castle Map Packs” plus 2 in-game helmets and an emblem.

Melinda: Matthew, that issue has not yet been resolved.

Melinda: We cannot process a refund of your pass since this item is non-refundable. And if a refund was processed, you would loss the right to use the additional map packs and content.

you: i am a partial refund for the crimson map pack included in the War Games Pass that select map was made free to thousands of people by a mistake after i payed for that content i at least want a partial refund for that piece of content!

Melinda: Matthew, I am researching this issue.

Melinda: But I will tell you Matthew that anyone who downloads content without paying for it runs the risk of having their account flagged if they use that content.

you: ok but that still does not help me in the fact i paid for something that was made free to thousands of people by a mistake

Melinda: Matthew we are not giving this content to people for free.

you: but after a mistake a large number of people did reiceve the content for free!

Melinda: And if they use it they may be banned if they did download it for free.

you: check your own community support forums and the Halo Waypoint forums people recieved that DLC for free after a mistake was made by Xbox Live

XBox Support twitter already officially confirmed that the map pack being available for free was a mistake on “their end,” and there would be no punishment.

I laugh at this. You will not be banned or flagged for Microsoft’s own mistake. Please…you’re statements aren’t even debatable.

Yeah, you can’t take the live support team seriously, mainly trust the twitter support team.

They already said on their twitter that no one will be banned/flagged for getting it free as it was microsoft’s mistake.

They’re not going to be punished.

Me and many other season pass owners kinda got screwed, and those who downloaded it for free won’t be punished. Why should they? It’s not their fault.

i cant see Microsoft banning people for their mistake either but this is comming directly from a supervisor so we shall see but apparently she cant find anything on the halo waypoint website about the issue that people got it for free am sorry but she must be blind not to see the hundreds of threads about this -.-

Everyone, easy on the topic creator. He’s not trolling. He posted based on the information he was given.

Tc, thank you for bringing this up, however there will most likely not be a ban for the reasons others are posting.

Look at the bright side, since A LOT of people have it now, its almost guaranteed that you will be paired with people who have it as well anytime you play any playlist

It’s not their fault that it’s up for free, but you should be responsible and mature enough to notice when there is a flaw in the system, and not take advantage of it.

Bottom line: They knew it was wrong, they chose poorly, they should be held accountable.
