Warmup and Practice Strategies?

Hey dudes,

Does anyone have any warmup strategy they consistently do that works? Also any practice strategies?

Lately my skills have been extremely inconsistent. One game I’d go 24 and 8. The next math I’d go 4 and 17. Last night I couldn’t even buy a kill because my magnum skills were so off. I got to a new level of frustrated because I used to be fairly consistent, but now it seems like my skills are deteriorating every time I play. So what are your skills to get better?

And I don’t mean “Just play arena”. I’m looking into ways to utilize arena to get better, but not rely on just playing to get better.

Thanks dudes

I made a forge map with just a bunch of fast respawning explosive barrels and just run around shooting them to hone in my aim other than that a better option is playing a couple octagon matches with a buddy.

I do the same thing! It worked for a while, but I started running octagons more regularly so I stopped using it. Looking back, that did work better than octagons due to not having autoaim on the barrels.

I usually play a octagon stye 2v2 flag map/gametype that warms me and my team up pretty well, i may have it on my file share if you would like to take a look at it.

I like either going into SWAT or Free-For-All to start the night if I can. Both get my head on swivel very quickly and get me paying attention to my surroundings and into the mood of fast-paced combat. SWAT is especially nice because I feel it helps me quickly get the feel of headshots while also helping me to pay attention to spawn spots.

24 and 8? Seriously?? Practice skills; why don’t you share with us. I would crap my pants if I went 24-8!

I play Warzone assault theres plenty of enemies to shoot. you are literally shooting the whole game.

This how I do it. In the past I would warm up on the arena matches then switch of to Warzone, But I found that starting in Warzone then switch over to arena was better for me.

I go and talk with Onyx players and Champions. A great nugget of knowledge I got from the exchange was “How many kills you get matters less than how many times you don’t die” “Damage dealt and assists tell a lot about how you were playing in any particular match” additionally a good nugget was “When you die don’t sprint back to the fight, take it slow and make sure the areas around you are clear, then listen for the callouts and try and help via long range shot or nades”

The last thing was good players know when to disengage from an enemy. If you can get 2-3 shots in a guy and get away alive, do it. Don’t be afraid to run away or thrust away from engagements you WILL lose 100%.

Warzone assault or Octagon for warmup

I’m not at all a good player, but I’ve started warming up with a few matches of Swat and then going into Warzone Assault. Swat forces me to be hyper-aware of my surroundings and work on my aim, and then - like others mentioned - WZA gives you a target-rich environment in which to practice.

This. I’ve been trying to just stay alive and not die instead of praying I’ll get the perfect kill and they miss once. Bail out if you don’t have the advantage. Shoot at everything
