> Perfect example of an already bad map.
We’ve barely seen anything about it, except little bits and second-long pieces from the ViDoc. Let’s not jump to conclusions until we see adequate gameplay, or, perhaps, play on the map ourselves.
> Why do i care if there is a giant -Yoink!- machine being built in the center? Is it for lag?
It’s not for lag, it’s to induce canon into multiplayer. Unlike other FPS’s, Halo actually includes canon into every multiplayer map. Every map has a story, has some overall related fiction to it. If you don’t care, that’s cool, because a lot of players (including myself) think it’s an awesome concept.
> Also wraparound, why do i care if that thing in the center creates sunlight? lmao i’m not twelve… seriously random as hell
See my above statement as to why it’s not “random”, not to mention age has nothing to do with anything.
> what does any of this have to do with GAMEPLAY? wowwwww
It doesn’t. It just adds personality and canonical value to the maps.
> Anyone else remember when games didn’t need a storyline to be fun? Or even a reason to play?
These maps don’t have a storyline, just a little background information on how they relate to Halo. Why would we want a map that’s just thrown into multiplayer without any reason? The background information gives these maps a sense of validity and adds atmosphere.
> Remember when we played games for GAMEPLAY
I wasn’t aware gameplay never went away. It’s possible to have an excellent map with great gameplay, as well as canonical validity. You don’t have to sacrifice one for the other; it’s not an ultimatum like you’re putting forth.
> Oh yeah…did I forget to mention GAMEPLAY
Yeah. We get it.
Essentially, what you’re saying, is that if a map has some relating canon to Halo, it automatically lacks gameplay? Flawless logic, consider every map that’s ever been in Halo has incorporated canon. This just seems like such a mundane topic to complain about.
