For weeks I’ve not managed to get a “Warden take down” only TEAM take downs. I’m only 9 from completing them and I think that it’s been made easier to get a team take down and so making it impossible to get a solo Warden take down?
In the last week or so as any one managed to get a Warden Kill and not just a team kill ?
I managed to get the last shot against Warden Eternal just a couple of days ago as did my friend, I think (we were in the same match but I am unsure if he got the last shot in).
It’s a matter of timing sadly. To know if you’re the one who gets the kill, look for the small red X in the reticule when he dies. If you don’t see that someone else has nabbed the kill. You may still get the medal, which confuses things somewhat.
I HATE the Warden takedowns.
It’s the only enemy I’m still struggling to complete the commendation… v_v

I reached level 5 on the Warden commendation when Firefight finished. I hadn’t had a single Warden takedown since then.
A couple of days ago I decided to start work on it again. In five games I had four Warden Eternal boss takedown medals but did not progress the commendation at all. I was starting to lose faith and then I actually got the kill shot in my sixth Warzone game!
I now need 9 more. Doubt I’ll finish it before Firefight comes back but at least I know it is still possible.
Hard to say, as I completed a while back. You need to be alive and doing heavy damage to be awarded the kill.
I feel ya ive been 3 warden kills away for 3 months. It will continue to sit there until firefight returns. Should have finished it off when firefight was there considering there was 3 wardens. I just couldnt sit through a bunch of FF games to do it.
Good thing I completed my Warden kills in the early months.
I’ve spoken to a few people now and they are saying the same thing, they get team kills but the final shot doesn’t count now.
He my final enemy and looks like 343 have buggered it up for me !?
use proper weapons for warden steal, like light of urs (with camo) or automatic weapons.
Took me FOREVER. Seems like up through Level 4 wasn’t too bad, but completing Level 5 was a nightmare. My final kill for 10/10 was with a Scorpion from a ways back, could make out the glowing ball on his back and evidentially that was good enough. Hit him 3 or 4 times, the last one was the winner. Arguably my most satisfying Boss takedown in the game, ever.

Yeah, weapon is important. Rate of fire is key - Light of Urs (not the other 2 fuel rod guns), The Answer (or Appetite for Destruction), and one that’s taken down many a Warden for me, the SMG. Especially near his “end”, get right up behind him, park the reticle on his “glowing ball of weakness” and hold the trigger down. That’s for bullet-squirter’s only, stand back a bit with the Light of Urs!!
It’s basically about the timing. Usually, I’ll wait until his health bar is a little under a quarter of an inch before I start using a decent weapon on him. If you’re using a loadout weapon, it’s better to aim for his weak spots like his mouth area or his back where the ball of light is.
I’ve tried every tactic, every weapon. It’s just luck. I actually got commendation credit for one today and it was a half magazine of base smg that got it. Pure luck. I’ve dumped “The Answer” at close range, rockets, smg’s, dmr’s splasers, wraiths, scorpions, Phaetons, EVERYTHING. It’s not hard to get the medal but it seems like for about every 25 medals about 1 counts toward the commendation. Sick of the warden. Need two more to be done then my warden shooting days are over. I’ll shoot at the people shooting at the warden.

Totally get it, once I FINALLY completed Level 5 I was sick of the Warden. And that wasn’t too long ago. Since then, I’ve only gone after the Warden from a “need to help my team win” standpoint…and I’ve gotten 2 kills, not just Medals for “assisting”. WTF - where were these easy kills when I needed them! 
I think we are all in the same boat on this. The only answer is for firefight to come back. I’m getting tired of getting the medal but not the commendation.
If you want to get the kill on Warden use “The Answer” I usually have a 80% success rate in landing the final kill shots even when there are 10 other people shooting at him.

It’s just a matter of getting the last shot. Scorpion or smg would be your best bet

I’ve being throw the whole bloody toy box at them, still not getting any, somethings screwy going on I’ve not had one in weeks !
