So I’m one commendation from completing the Forerunner destroyer commendations, and the last thing i need to do is Kill 10 Wardens. I’ve participated in the killing of 3 in Legendary firefight and gotten the mythic takedown for them, but it hasn’t counted towards my commendations. Do I have to do the most damage on the warden for it to be counted? please Help.

In order for the commendation to progress you need to get the actual kill shot on the warden. The medal is related to whether you were one of the ones who damaged it last. If you get the kill shot a red X will appear over your crosshairs rather briefly.
There is some debate about whether the Mythic version of the warden counts or not though. (I’ve yet to find a clear answer)
okay so two of the 3 warden kills, someone assassinated the warden so that makes sense why i didnt get the kill. thank you

Based on personal experience, I do believe that killing the Mythic Warden does count towards the commendation. Then again, my sources can be disputed.

I used an SMG, or a splinter grenade. All done with that commendation.

If you have any Vespin Rocket Hogs, you can use those too; their fast-moving rockets are great for direct fire from a safe distance, and they can do some serious damage when compared to the Guass Hogs.
The faster projectiles also minimize the chances of missing your shots.

Alright so this making me really mad, I’ve participated in killing 15 more wardens and only gotten one “Kill shot” that counted
So much effort and it’s not paying off

The way I did it was with a Hardlight railgun.
Get safe, preferably somewhere behind the warden and wait he is about to die and I mean literally one tank shot away.
I did do this in normal warzone though as Warden used to spawn every game and they were only the legendary versions so they had less health

I suggest using; a scorpion, the answer, smg spam, wraith ultra, oni hog turrets, or incineration cannons. Those provide the best results.

got one out of 8 today with a fuel rod today
Just keep at it, you’ll get there eventually. Took me awhile too
