Even though I always get the warden takedown metal.
Most of the time I don’t recieve one towards the commendation.
Even if I get 4 warden takedown I get 0 towards commendations sometimes

You have to get the actual kill shot, which only one person canget, where as the medal more than a few people can get.
343 made it easier to get the boss takedown medal in the last update, but getting the medal doesn’t exactly mean you killed Warden. You have to be the guy to land the last shot.
If you want my advice, I’d say use a splinter grenade along with an SMG. Unload on Warden when he has a very, very small amount of health and that should give you the kill.
I shouldn’t have to wear the warden down most of the way solo.
Just to have one guy with a br take it.
There’s no way he did the most damage.
Nor should I have to kill 40 wardens for 7 kills
Warden kill medal may or may not award you a kill.

40 warden take downs = 8 kills
Wearing it down by myself with a scorpion to have it stolen by small arms weapons.

Lol you can handle getting a medal, I would think. Just be patient and wait until post game to see how many Wardens you killed.

It’s usually 4 take downs ingame.
And 0 kills
Meh I already have all my Warden kills ^-^
I might as well stop fighting wardens.
None of the kills count…
I’ve played a dozen or so Firefight matches and I’ve gone from 1/7 to 6/7 on level four of the commendation. They were all attained using either a free (dead Knight) Incineration Cannon, a Splinter Grenade or an assassination.
The trick is to watch his health bar and go for the kill when you know your weapon of choice will get the killing blow.
I would imagine I’d have a fair few more if I’d wasted Reqs on Firefight but who does that?

Nothing seems to get a “real” kill on them.
Just get "warden eturnal takedown" every time.
I’ve tried loadouts, tanks, saw, ghosts, all warthog, and a hanibal mantis.
Nothing awards a "real" kill, been at it all day and have made no progress in my warden commendations.
Is there anything that gives a real kill?

14 hours and dozens of wardens and not a single kill towards warden commendation.
Nothing should take this much effort.

I just got 3 in one game with a scorpion. It’s not that challenging.
I still have no warden kills and I am lvl 50

But did they count towards your commendations?
Likely they did not.
Take downs are easy, must be my game not awarding me kills, but in match takedowns only.
Metals every game (if there’s a Warden) but none of them count. As kills towards commendation.
You could try “The Answer” saw. It rakes pretty good.
Short of starting a party and asking them to weaken the wardens for me to get the “real kill”
I’m out of ideas…
Takedown metal for every fight but never for the actual commendation.
