Warden Eternal

Watched the e3 trailer recently and I’ve very curious about this character. I mean he takes osiris out with one hit and sends vale and buck flying.
He seems like an important character with some sort of past have 343 said that he will be a progressing character in the story or is he just the boss to that one level?

I hope he isn’t just a boss to that level he seems very powerful. Probably late on this topic but whatever.

I for one hope he is, and that we will have many more bosses in the game. As for the character, they’ve not spoken about him since as far as I’m aware. He clearly has something to do with the guardian. Maybe each guardian has a warden of sort? I dunno. Nobody knows.

Oh okay, that would be interesting if each guardian had something like a protector. The reason I don’t want him to be the boss of that level is because I feel like we need to know more about him and what he is doing with the chief.

He does seem to have a purpose because he let Chief go aboard the Guardian.

He is the Didact reborn!

Kidding, I’m not sure what happened to Didact after Halo 4, tbh.

The didact didn’t die in Halo 4 he was killed off in Halo escalation

Technically, he didn’t die, he was composed.

And what if the Warden Eternal is a whole new person but he just used that forerunner…thing to inform/talk with Locke? Like Gravemind talked with Chief and Arbiter in Halo 3, when he pleased them to listen him. Isn’t that possible? Because these things looks like bosses in gameplay rather than characters.

Nah he is probably that forerunner thing. That is him in that picture, he probably will be a boss I just hope he isn’t killed off in that level we saw. He seems like an important character and that level seems like his introduction.

Edit: I could be wrong and those could be an elite type of promethian class.

Than maybe he will be something like 343 Guilty Spark.

“Keeper of the Domain” makes him almost guaranteed to be very important. Likely a composed Forerunner… But then why does he get a special shell that actually looks like a Forerunner, as opposed to the Knights whose only resemblance to a forerunner is the skull inside their head? I suppose its likely just so its obvious to players that he is a forerunner, whereas with the Knights, you never know if each knight is forerunner or human. (Kind of wish their was some way to tell. Like a human skull inside the human ones. Not necessary in the slightest, but would be a nice artistic touch to drive home the point that these things could be human or forerunner.

I can only assume that he is partially responsible for the Prometheans turning on Jul’Mdama. And since he’s out to help Chief, I can only assume his plans are in line with the Librarian’s. Makes me wonder how likely it is the Didact will be returning. The story definitely allows for the Didact to return, but the Didact no longer has his Prometheans, as they are under the control of the Warden Eternal. So I can’t imagine what his role could be. Perhaps by the end of the game, he would be at a point where he eventually goes down the path the Librarian set for him. Helping the humans. But then again, maybe not. The Didact is obviously a vengeance driven being. After all, he does have many, many reasons to hate everything about his situation:

  • He was one the last Forerunners still intent on fighting the flood, not wanting to resort to the Halos as the others did.
  • He learned of how the Humans surviving the flood the first time was likely because they were spared by the Flood, which was a creation of the Precursors, who also created the Forerunners alongside humans.
  • The last(perhaps) of those Precursors revealing that humanity was next to be tested as the rightful owners of the Mantle and that the right to the Mantle was essentially stolen by the Forerunners when they failed their test.
  • The Didact was “betrayed” by his wife, who by the end of the war, ended up getting very close to the new Didact, who essentially ended up replacing the original. Ouch.
  • And worst of all: The Didact awakens thousands of years later, only to find that his race has long since perished, the humans are now on the path to being the dominant power in the galaxy as the Forerunners once were, and that they somehow survived the Flood again. For the third time. A victory the Forerunners could never achieve.

When you put that all into perspective, that initial war the Forerunners had against the Humans is just touching the surface of why the Didact is so hateful of them. And just Hateful of everything in general.

I feel like that almost guarantees his return in H5.
