I must say 343 must be very proud of this character, as they decide to use him several times throughout the game, not to mention the fact every battle contains more and more of the worst enemies in Halo (the Prometheans), instead of giving him new abilities and making him actually fun to fight, and don’t even get me started on those black orbs that go through walls and kill you instantly.
I swear to god I’m fighting him in mission 13 (with the two duplicates of him because who cares about good game design and originality), and if it weren’t for all the checkpoints fed to you, I probably would have ejected the game and stopped playing altogether.
Also it’s pretty hard to find him threatening when he sounds almost exactly like Bubble Bass (it doesn’t make him any less annoying to listen to either).
Sorry for this seemingly negative post but I just had to let off some steam. I also wanted to see if anyone else agrees with me that The Warden is the worst thing to happen in the entire franchise (I’ve still enjoyed the campaign overall and I like the game as a whole, but this guy sticks out like a sore thumb)

I mean, I do agree with you, but he does not sound like Bubble Bass.
I think it was my third Warden at which point I decided to re-evaluate some of my life choices and call it quits on the Halo 5 campaign. Haven’t had any interest in returning back to complete it since. The Warden really managed to turn a rather mediocre campaign into an absolute chore to play.
I’d also like to mention how I can’t stand most of the promethean levels (that includes Halo 4). In Halo 5 they just seem to spam enemies everywhere so it creates the illusion that they programmed a challenging level (that’s just my opinion though)
Oh my god they did it. I didn’t think they had the balls to do it but they actually did it. You have to fight three Wardens (at the same time) in Mission 14. What a complete joke.
EDIT: never mind it was actually really easy

That’s my plan when i FINALLY make my legendary run
Even in WZ the Warden isn’t an enjoyable foe. As least Knights are given different weapons based on their tiers (Scattershot, Incineration Cannon). The Grunt Goblins have different projectiles like Plasma Grenades and tracking needles. But what’s the difference between basic and Mythic Warden? Nothing. It’s straight up Ctrl+C and V, but now he’s bright red.
I like the Warden, although I understand the criticism about him being overused. Honestly, I didn’t find him too hard in the campaign, even on legendary.
I would say that all enemies are overused in Halo 5 and that’s why it has so boring Campaign.Warden Eternals and Soldiers are the only new enemies, all others we fought thousand times in previous games.
The Warden wasn’t that bad. At least you actually got to fight him unlike the Didact in Halo 4. And the Warden isn’t that hard ti take down. All you have to do is get him to his first weekended state to where his back opens up and you can assassinate him and kill him much faster than pumping thousands of rounds into him. And you can always use your AI teammates to whittle him down and distract him so you can get behind him to assassinate him. And the fun thing is you can assassinate any version of him in the Campaign and in Warzone/Firefight. I have a few videos on my channel of assassinating him in Warzone and in the Campaign.
Ironically, compared to Tartarus and 343 Guilty Spark the Warden Eternal is probably one of the best boss fights we had in a halo game. If only we had to fight him once, I’m sure he would be getting tons of praise.

No…You’re gonna fight and kill all 3 like a real spartan! It was a glorious feeling…8 hours of play time after my first of many failed tries.

Fighting the same enemy multiple times is fine if done right.
We still love fighting the Covenant despite them existing in every game since the beginning.

Halo 5’s campaign had a MAJOR last minute re-write. How did they chose to make light of a bad situation? 7 Identical Warden Eternal boss fights, all the same but varying in location and amount of Wardens and supporting enemies. A lot of the time you can chalk up the mediocrity to REDACTED and last minute re-writes, but how they approached the Warden Eternal in Halo 5 is downright pathetic, regardless of circumstance.
