Warden Eternal in Warzone

So this isn’t a complaint thread but I am wondering what people’s opinion on him showing up in Warzone is as it has somewhat divided our group.

For me too many Warzone games come down to both teams blindly firing at him and hoping to score the killing blow to win the round when I kind of think the team that does the most damage to him should win. Other bosses are fine but he just shows up too late in the game.

For example on one occasion the enemy team had entirely locked down his spawn on March on Stormbreak with tanks at both entrances. They had easily done 90% of the damage to him on their own as we couldn’t get close. Then I spawned quite randomly in line of sight of the warden, fired two pistol shots at him, got the kill and won the game. We’d been tied before he showed up and the other team deserved the win. The reverse has happened for us loads too where we have nuked the boss only to lose when the enemy nicked it at the last minute with a random shot across the map.

In this regard it seems the game might as well just be decided by a roll of the dice.

Agreed. It needs to be based on damage dealt. e.g. if the boss is worth 100 points, and blue team does 85% of the damage, and red does 15%. Then they get 85 and 15 points pespectively

That’d be a good solution as far as I’m concerned.
Alternatively, nerf his health and spawn him in packs of 5 at a time (or whatever number seems more appropriate), splitting the points as necessary.

I like both of these ideas, though I feel the based on damage percentage would solve the problem with all bosses.

It drives me up a wall that I always get that one match where the other team will let others do all the work on bosses then leech at the last second to get the kill so their team gets the points. I also feel that it should be split on the terms of the percentage of damage done so instead of getting 0 points my team would be getting 149 while the other team would be getting 1 point.

Yeah, like Mass Effect 3.

Hadn’t thought of dividing the points per team based on damage dealt but that would work. I was thinking simply whichever team deals the most damage gets all of it but that wouldn’t be much better than the current system.

Having the kill stolen on the other bosses is annoying but usually isn’t dreadful. Warden is a problem though as it either decides the game for tied teams making base captures suddenly pointless or for losing teams means they have to get the kill to stay in the game. It seems that team tactics or skill rarely decide who actually kills him compared to blind luck.

I’d rather he spawned earlier instead of one of the ridiculously easy 150 point bosses so the end of the game became a mad rush to capture and hold bases instead.

Is this really the case? I used a full ammo Selenes Lance until empty on warden and then died, only to get the Warden takedown 20 seconds later when the enemy fired a tank round at him. I truly do not believe the last shot gets the kill because I’ve noticed many instances where the most damage delt goes the spoils

One of the main reasons Warzone is more of a luck-based chore you have to endure to farm credits than a fun gametype…

With the warden comes victory.

I think that awarding teams points based on the percentage of damage dealt is a good idea. I cant tell you how many times our company has poured the hurt on a legendary boss, just to have it stolen by a sniper or a tank. Its quite frustrating!

I agree with your point but I also think they need other main bosses besides the Warden. Not saying I don’t like him but all the other bosses are kinda like ehhh

ugh, I need 5 warden kills to finish the commendation, I have been stuck at 5 for over a month!!!

I play to enjoy the game and have fun, you win some and you lose some bro’s!

Point based awards on %damage a bad idea.

If the enemy already has 70% of warden damaged noones going to bother going for the possible 10% and it will quickly become one-sided. If they have 10 guys attacking him and a scorpion shooting him, you wont be able to kill those 10 guys and snag warden because its not worth it.

he spawn is to lat , many warzone games are over before he spawn or just after he spwan , making him irelevant

I really think that Warden eternal in Warzone is fun

I’ve killed warden everywhere except battle of noctus. It’s just impossible, even when your using a tank. Gosh.
