When you finish a match of warzone by killing Warden Eternal, you get the legendary boss takedown medal but no progress towards your warden commendation. This is really frustrating considering you only have one chance per game to work towards that, and that should have been my first one at level 89!

Same issue for me. I’ve completed all weapon commendations and got the weapon mastery. I aleo got the commendations for killing covenant. And the last one I need for forerunners is warden eternal. I got him to 5/5 - 2/10 but every kill I get gives me only the medal but no progress. It’s extremely annoying and I think the reason this hasn’t been dealt with is because we’re just ahead of our time.
Are you sure that you were the actual player who got the kill? As far as I am aware each legendary boss gives medal credit to the player who actually scores the killing blow and to the player who got the last assisted shot in as well. The player who scores the killing blow is the only one who will actually receive commendation credit. You may have scored the assist shot and not the kill shot.
this happened to me I am on lv 5 9/10 for warden kills and every kill i get on him doesn’t allow it to go up this is very annoying because it torments me my actual lvl is 119 and i cry every time i get a warden kill
I think you may only be getting a legendary boss assist. You have to land the actual killing shot for it to count sadly.
Having the same problem. Need one more warden kill to complete my enemy commendations. I’ve got the medal twice but it just doesn’t count for some reason
For every level (1 more to complete lvl 5) if I got the medal it counted towards kills. You can’t say that on the last one needed, a medal doesn’t mean you get credit for a kill.

Got to be the killing shot. Medal doesn’t mean kill. It is also awarded for an assist.
I was in same boat for a while. Once firefight becomes a permanent thing, spawn a tank and get the job done. In some of the encounters you’ll have three wardens to target.
Just grab a Whiplash or Arclight, find an inconspicuous spot with a sightline on the Warden, and wait. I’ve gotten both Warden kills on Battle of Noctus before by doing that.
Last kill for lvl 5. Just now I got the kill with an assassination. No credit, not just for the kill, but the entire game. Froze up on me, FML!!!
I thought I had the same issue. For several weeks my progress was stuck at lvl 5 8/10. Somehow I managed to get it to 9/10. I don’t remember the last hit was different from others before. Just grind wardens and u will get it in the end

It means someone else got it. You did not get credit for it. Same as what happens when you are assassinating an enemy spartan, and someone “steals” your medal.
