Question: Do you think the team with the most damage should receive the points for the kill in war zone??
The games I have played this is the biggest issue I’ve had getting a ultra 95% dead then getting killed by the other team and losing the ultra kill.
No. The thing is that having people attack a boss increases their chance of getting a kill, instead of simply more damage deciding who gets the points. It takes more strategy.

The most popular strategy as of now is letting the enemy team throw everything they’ve got at the boss, then steal the kill at the last second with one BR shot. Something’s got to change.
The boss points are my ONLY complaint with warzone. Warzone is by far one of THE best mp modes to ever come to the Halo franchise.
I love Warzone. My ONLY complaint is that the boss battles should go by damage points = team points.
The boss has 150 points.
Team A does 120 points of damage and team A gets 120 points added to the score.
Team B does 30 points of damage and team B gets 30 points added to the score.
This last second kill stealing shot on a boss is ridiculous. Again it is my only complaint with Warzone. 343 listens very well to the community so I am sure this is something they can dial in over time.

Stop it. You act like this one bullet has precident over the 12 other bullets hitting the boss at the same time. Does it happen. Yes. But after playing a ton of warzone it really is dispersed on the odds of how many are shooting at the same time. 9 out 10 times if 9 of your team is shooting for the last shot, they will get the last shot. 1 out of 10 times the 1 out of 10 guy gets the last shot.

That’s your experience. So far it’s been the other way around for me, 10% of the time when my team gets the kill when we give it our all, but 90% of the time I’ll hit it with my Railgun/Rocket etc. and then I hear Sarah say “Enemy eliminated (boss)” immediately after my attack hits.
Something really needs to be done about boss point awards. It’s such a bummer that a team can eliminate every member of the enemy team in the vicinity, establish a perimeter, and pour tank shell after spartan laser after sniper round into the boss, only to have one guy from the other team score the final hit from across the map and gain a massive number of points for his or her team.
In effect, the outcome of the match feels incredibly random.

I agree, that’s kind of bogus. I think there should be a kill bonus, but point should be divided based on damage dealt. Would that be more fair maybe?

I’ve played over one hundred Warzone games, how exactly will the next 100 be any different?
Always have people or be the person killing off the enemy while attacking bosses. Only takes a few as most likely they are scoping and radar is not allowed unless they have the armor mod on.

With any statistic, the larger the sample size the more accurate it becomes.

It needs some work for sure. I love Warzone so much but I am at the point where I don’t even like bothering with boss battles any more because it is beyond ridiculous someone will fire a random shot across the map for the kill with one final bullet. That really needs to be resolved. 343 listens very well to the community so I am sure they will figure out something to resolve this issue. I will be optimistic because I just cant see it staying like this.
I prefer the current system. The last shots the only one that matters.

I don’t see how that helps your case. I, and many others, are tired of having our legendary kills being stolen by a few stray bullets from the enemy team, and you’re just telling me to keep going? That at some certain point the game is going to stop giving me BS and give me kills when I’ve earned them?
One idea I’ve heard is based on damage and final shot. For example on a legendary boss, the first 100 points would be given by damage. So if each team did 50% of damage each team would get 50 points. Then the final shot/actual kill would be worth the remaining 50 points. With this, I think players would be encouraged to do as much damage as possible but there is still something for using the last shot strategy.

I think it should just be like a trickle of points depending on the percentage of damage dealt

I thought you said most of the time you get the kill? Seriously, every game for the last 100 have gone for each and every legendary boss. Look at my prior posts to see how hard I work to get bosses. If people should take your word, why should they not take someones who has played more then twice as long as you and activily participated and discusses boss mechanics?

Let me clarify: When my entire team is firing on a Legendary boss (for example, we have the spire and are surrounding the Warden outside of it), more often the enemy team will somehow get the kill.
