War Games locked down?

I’m so confused… if I buy the standard edition can I play multiplayer straight away? or do I need to buy the map pack on the same day to get access to it? I hate online passes.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated! I plan on buying the maps at a later date you see.

The dlc maps don’t come out on launch day, the season pass lets you get all of them as they release over the next year

You can buy them separately as they come out if you want and the season pass is definitely not needed to play multiplayer

So yes you can play multiplayer without it and no it is not an online pass

Great!

I’m broke right now so that’s good to hear, I’ll go pre-order the standard copy now then. Thank you for your help wolf

The Pass is like the Gears of War 3 season pass. You buy all the DLC upfront for cheaper than buying them separately when they launch. You don’t need it if you don’t want it.

Don’t worry, it’s not like Battlefield 3 where you can’t play online.

Imagine if they’d released a deal for Halo 3 where you could buy the Heroic, Legendary and Mythic map packs for a group price of 2000MSP instead of buying each of them seperately for a total of 2400MSP (800MSP each), it’s like that.

How do you get “online pass” from “Map Pack Season Pass”?

Eh, it’s a season pass with a different name. Same difference. :stuck_out_tongue:

In the case of Halo 3 it would actually come very close to being an online pass.
