So I’ve come back to Halo 4 after a fairly long break to find that many of the games I join have lag. I’m not sure if it’s my connection, but my friends have also said that they have experienced lag. Is this the same for anyone else? Or is it simply me?
Here lately I’ve been lagging like crazy! Im not sure if its the game, or my connection. But yeah matchmaking is horribly laggy at the moment.
Though I haven’t experienced bad lag in a good period of time, I have been on the end of some pretty bad hosts recently. Even when playing on GB host (where I’m from) it seems 20% of my shots have not been registering. Then when playing on American host, the 2 shot beat down turns into a 4-5 shot beat down or seven shot kill. Just yesterday I was playing with my friend and we matched the same guys twice, the host was getting some ridicules kills through the walls. When we pummeled him, it didn’t register. The rest of the game was fine though. No delay and no teleporting…
The past two weeks have been almost lag free for me. Only few matches with terrible lag that forced me to quit and few with minor lag where I still could play well enough.
Most laggy for me seems to be Heavies and CTF. Or black site. There has never been a match in there that has not lagged.
Lag is most common in playlists that you have played very little in, and so have a low CSR. You’ll experience less lag as your CSR gets higher, because most of the people you match up with will be selected based on connection, rather than testing the connection for lower ranks.
