Want to get a sense of others performance

Playing campaign, and my experience with the multiplayer tutorial and a couple of bot matches, then the first two linear story missions was a solid 60fps with ingame settings of:
borderless fullscreen but 71% scaling (sad that no option for exclusive and lower res)
vsync off, mininum 60 & unlocked (vsync on in nvidia control panel)
textures, texture filtering, DOF, antialiasing at LOW
Everything else at HIGH

… Open world, dropped it to 40-45

Put everything at low, open world fluctuated between 40-50

My setup:
11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400H 2.70GHz
Nvidia Geforce 3050RTX 4GB VRAM
8GB RAM
(win10x64bit laptop, 8GB page file)
(Uninstalled HD textures, set HaloInfinite exe to run as admin & disable fullscreen optimizations, Nvidia control panel set to max performance, & prefer nvidia high performance)

(TBF, I later decided to lock fps to 48, min and max, and then in my open world spelunking it has stayed mostly at 48, still, because it’s not always 48, but pretty often going around 46-7-8 I know that if I’d raise it I wouldn’t see that go much higher, so I prefer a consistent fps now, it’s been playable and fun enough)

I know I shouldn’t expect miracles with a laptop, but still curious how others across the board have their performance, in campaign.

(reposted from steam, apologies, but want to get an idea if this is just normal or an issue)

The gpu is your problem.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3050-4-gb.c3744

12% slower than gtx 1070 and it seem because your cpu has H on the end you must be playing on laptop.

good cpu but not so good gpu, probably bottlenecking. classic case of selling not great spec for cheap i’m afraid.

if you haven’t had it long, i’d return it for a refund and either get something better or build a desktop pc. i had a gaming laptop for a while but sold it ages ago due to throttling, expense and my love has always been desktop gaming on a big screen.

it was cool for a while but i realised i didn’t really need one. so i built a second SFF gaming pc instead that i can lug around. around the size of a xbox one (original fat console)

screens are pain to replace on laptops, lids are usually metal which dents, fans are loud, can’t upgrade parts (unless you buy a super expensive one and even then the upgraded parts will cost like half the cost of the laptop itself) just wasn’t worth pursuing…

that was maybe a year ago now, haven’t missed having a laptop since.

for infinite i sold some spare graphics cards upgraded my gtx 1060 6gb > radeon 6660 xt 8gb and cpu from 6800k to 8700k (micro atx mobo for less than £60.

i’m fine with 1080p gaming, no interest in 2k/4k as that would require spending more than i can afford.
