Hello everybody! I wasn’t sure where to post this, but being a discussion about a possible community creation, I reasoned it would be safe enough here in “Community Creations”.
I’m an avid Halo fan, and have spent my childhood(I’m just turning 18 next week) wielding virtual rifles in Halo’s enivornments, cutting down aliens. Great way to feel like a badass when you’re ten years old on a Saturday morning. After a summer with my grandfather, who himself was in the USAF for 20 years and is a collector of guns, my own personal interests in weapons has come to life. Over the next few years I will begin collecting pistols and rifles, but the Halo fan within me is itching for a bit o’ nostalgia…
And that’s when it hit me. My favorite rifle from the games, the iconic MA5C Assault Rifle, really doesn’t seem to far a stretch from modern-generation weapons to be deemed as too fantastical to create. In fact, for an admitted Halo-addict like myself, it would be the perfect collection-topper, my own little prized possesion to show off to the fellas, you know? Plus, who wouldn’t feel completely awesome firing one of these at a line of bottles?
Now, I’m not going to pretend like I’m an idiot. I understand that I am not a gunsmith, so I have no way to fully say this will or will not be possible. I also understand that if it is possible, it probably isn’t cheap. I’ve made this post to ask my fellow Halo lovers if they’ve attempted this, if they’ve seen it done, or if they even know a gunsmith who would ever take this into action.
Here’s some basic info as to what I’m looking for in this:
-A visually exact replica of the MA5C Assault Rifle from the X-Box 360 video game “Halo 3”.
->By visually exact, I mean that its my own personal hope that perhaps the rifle’s outer body could be laid over the internal parts of an already existing bullpup rifle design. Discussion on this would be great.
-The in-game rifle has an electronic suite with a digital ammo counter and other housekeeping functions. I’m fine without this, though it would totally top off the rifle, were it actually feasible.
-I’m wanting a rifle that I can actually fire at things with. Not a mantlepiece. Creating ammo clips that match the style from the game would be great, but it would be best if it actually used a buyable ammunition type, so I can afford to fire this thing more then once.
Like I said, this is mostly for discussion to try and iron out my idea. By the way, for the love of god, I would really appreciate only serious responses. Jokes are fine, but I don’t need info on lego or nerf rifles. I’m done with toys. Erm, I should say, I’m done with toys that you don’t need a liscence to wield.
