Want someone to listen?

Hey guys,

I see so many threads right now simply flaming 343. Almost every single post is filled with some sort of hate or claims that halo is dead.

Im not here to debate these items with you, what i am here to say is this:

If you want someone to listen, say something in a way you would like it said to you.

Basically, waht i mean is that if you made something, and someone walked up to you and told you how ugly and horrid it was and that there was only one way to save it; how exactly would you react. I garuntee that most of you would react very badly, and wouldnt even heed their words.

If you want someone to listen, be respectful. Respect whoever your talking to, respect their opinion. Dont instantly go and rip their heads off. Why? Because even if someone is right, instantly starting out with a flame turns them into a wall. Arguing with a wall will get you nowhere, no matter how hard you push.

Post things nicely. Dont say halo 4 sucks and that frankie is and idiot; thats possibly the worst thing to do. Thats why they dont listen to us guys. If you were to say: “Hey guys, I looked over some of the items you put in. It seemse that some of these items could be game changing, and i for one am not sure i like that.”

Even that sounds a bit harsh, but after that you could giv enice easy ways that they could tweak the settings to make it better.

But what i see the community say is this: Sprint sucks. 343 sucks. Halo 4 sucks. I hate armor abilities. You guys are idiots etc.

This isnt a good mindset guys. You ask why they arent listening to your opinions? Well thats why. I barely click on threads anymore because they all sound like that now. I have seen very, very few posts that were well constructed.

Guys, if you want them to listen, then say things right.

Silent (And sorry if some of this makes no sense. Usually my posts are more well constructed but i am rather brain dead at the moment.)

Being nice isn’t going to get anyones attention.

If people are so fundamentally limited as to shoot the messenger that’s their own problem.

Here’s why people insult you: They are desperate, Halo is being destroyed and the only way to save it is if 343 realizes why before they have a chance to commit this final atrocity. They need to have your attention, if we say things nicely maybe they’ll come on and see the threads in 12 months after release. Very helpful yes? (protip: no.) If you kick up some dirt they at least have to look

More important that anything is to realize, 90% of the negative reaction is directed toward fluff bunnies/carebears who actively flame any complaints even if they are politely worded.

I can see what your getting at. They will look, but they wont listen. Why? While they might realise the facts at a later time that they did something wrong, they will realise to late. They will take a look at the post and if its an instant flame, they wont read it. EVen if they do read it they are likely bound to disagree with it simply because someone started out with a flame.

You start with a flame, you build a wall. Push all you want, the wall will push back just as much as you push forward. You can tire, but a wall cannot.
