You can have your opinion.
That said from a design standpoint 4 was cluttered and had far too much visual noise. Especially when anti aliasing wasn’t present.
5 was slightly better but had some the worst texture work I have seen. Not in quality but in direction. Whole game looked like toys. Beta had fantastic metals and depth to textures but they got swapped out.
Infinite looks great and has a highly functional visual language.
Lighting remains a strong part of 343is aesthetic.
So clearly I don’t agree with the ops claim.
It looks like a halo from 2021 and thats aces
That’s just my opinion and I’m not a new halo player.I started playing halo when 3 released and when 4 released I thought that was a nice first step for 343i.I quite like it.And when I saw 343i abandoned their art styles just to look more “bungie” I just felt that’s a pity
Halo infinite looks fantastic. Can’t wait to give it a try. Wasn’t a fan of Halo 5’s art style tbh.

It looks like halo. Theres a visual cohesion as opposed to a wtf this guy slept 4 years Nd now the entire universe including ancient ruins has a face lift and shares little to no visual language with prior titles.
Thats my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no need to shame.
I don’t agree with OP but maybe it is their first Halo and that will always have a special place in anyones heart.

Halo Infinite is trying to find a balance between modern and classic, and they did this because the majority wanted this. I think they did a great job.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You don’t need to be so childish about your response. I’m 30 thanks; I’m capable of having intelligent discussions and have formulated my own opinions about what I like and don’t like about a series I’ve played from Day 01.

Have you lost your mind?? Four and five art style sucked. Halo wars 2 had the best. Definite more resembles halo wars. If you want bright colors and cartoonish looking art style feel free to go play fortnite.
Eh, only things I want back from 5 are the different smart scope UIs for each weapon, and the MA5D AR. Having the same graphic for each weapon in zoom is just kinda dull, and I’ve always preferred the MA5B/C/D visual style WELL over that of Reach.

Im guessing halo 5 was your first halo. All I know is infinite actually looks like halo again. When I say that I mean it looks like the trilogy I fell in love with but with modern graphics. Its glorious
No thanks. Things actually look like Halo again. The Halo 4 and 5 art style was very overdesigned. A majority have wanted a rollback to the old art style, and I couldn’t be happier on this front.
ehehhheh, I kind of like the current art style, and this thread is pretty one sided too…

OP is obviously trolling. Halo 4 and 5 had objectively bad art styles. Infinite’s art style is what we’ve wanted as the Halo community for many years. Glad halo looks like halo again.
I think each game outside of the first 3 had their own “artstyle”. Reach was more militaristic looking with mag pouches and supplementary armor offsetting the painted spartan beneath, Halo 4 and 5 took it to a more “futuristic” style with sharp geometry for the forerunner and SciFi curvy exo-suit like armor. They both certainly have their pros and cons, and it just so happens that more people like space diapers on their spartans! But to be serious I think the art style needed to fit the Halo Wars series more than anything because they are using the Banished as the enemies for this new installment. And don’t forget that without the campaign, Halo’s unique artstyle wouldn’t even exist.
I think that what should be back from halo 5 is how the weapons are pointed, that smart sight or whatever they want to tell it. since in this test I did not feel comfortable using the aiming of the weapons.
Perhaps 343 will add an Armor Core that is similar or the same as armor from Halo 4/5.

Having a different opinion is not trolling, have some respect for our fellow Halo fan. Halo 4/5 are just as much Halo as Halo 3/Reach, and should be treated as such. Even if Halo 3 and Reach were the prime of the series, many players started out on the 343 games and we should welcome them, not shun them. There’s room in the community for all of us
You’re entitled to your opinion, everyone has their preferences. But this was a good change overall as the majority of folk didn’t like how 4 and 5 looked.
That is not going to happen. Me personally, love Halo 4/5 artstyles in general and think they are superior in the majority of the things, specially because I think the classic Halo aesthetic has gotten a bit outdated over the years.
But, I’m tired to discuss this subject any further and I’m relieved that Halo Infinite is kinda blending the classical and new aesthetic into something more approachable so those annoying youtubers can finally stop saying with no knowledge at all that Halo 4/5 artstyles are “objectively bad” and hopefully this discussion will be gone for good.

No, I think you are wrong, Infinite looks amazing and is finally a return to form. The H4 and H5 art styles are nothing but plastic and crappy Elmer’s glue. It is quite disgusting and doesn’t make any practical sense at all. Cheap and fake.
However, I did notice that Infinite is very reminiscent of Anthem’s crisp texture and art style, which threw me off a bit…
