Want Casuals in Arena? Eliminate Warzone

All I ever hear is people complaining how 343i caters to the competitive community. You’re not happy with Infection, Grifball, your Warzone, Fiesta, or pretty much anything. But because the MM is competitive and ‘sweaty,’ you consider them catering to the competitive community, when it’s all we have. Don’t like a challenge? You have your Warzone, and those rotating playlists constantly.

But, I think it would be great if 343i took away that precious Warzone, forcing people to play Arena or quit playing. Would the population plummet? Of course. But those who stayed would have no choice but to play the much wanted social slayer.

Point of this is this: Can’t have it all. Leave the competitive community alone. Most of us want a lot too (Team Doubles and Snipers!), but they are too busy with the casual playlists (Warzone Firefight, Fiesta variants, and now Infection).

No Warzone = more casuals in Arena

Lol then who would they bank all their REQ pack money off of?

No I actually don’t want “casuals” in arena. Arena is for competitive play. I want competitive opponents… if they want to add casual playlist that is fine.

343 does not cater to competitive players

Want casuals in arena? Then put social playlists for casual players. Don’t see why that’s so hard. Warzone isn’t always casual at this point either.

They also need to make some permanent modes, such as snipers and doubles. The community is more split than ever before.

That’s what he is saying

I dont even understand why things like a casual slayer mode, or social aor often only weakend playlist.

i have absolutely no idea what OP is trying to say

is anyone else feeling the same or is it time for more coffee?

If you have to say no offense, you shouldnt have posted in the first place.

Actually i think i know what OPs going on about. All the casual players are playing Warzone, so if you don’t want to go against tryhards in Arena then get rid of Warzone.

No point to this thread.

yeah like 343 won’t do it simply because they won’t make enough money

I think it has to do with a revolving population. You see there are 3 types of people (maybe more). The first is the competitive player. The person who plays because they want a challenge. These are usually your long term players as they have maybe a handful (if that) games that they wish to be highly competent in. Second, is the social player, the player who plays games (or at least this one) for pure fun and enjoyment. They just want to have a good time, relax, and hang out with friends, randoms, or even themselves. Our last player is actually the second side of the coin social player. Two types of social players. The one that continues to play and the one that leaves for another game.

The point in explaining the above is to point out the reasoning behind why there is a social or weekend playlist. It’s to keep the players that leave coming back. You see these players play other games because they are different, new, etc. If your game adds new and exciting features, these people generally come back to see what has been added even if they don’t play often. It captures their attention and thus effectively “increases” the population temporarily.

TLDR; You shouldn’t put your all your eggs in one basket. For a sustainable game you must create events that are spontaneous. That will allow your population to fluctuate.

I think it’s stupid how most casual players play war zone so they may have a chance at not dying so frequently, but that leaves all the experienced halo players in arena fighting to a sweaty death

Have you played warzone? Sometimes Arena is more relaxing. I don’t get the whole “casual” and “tryhard” thing anyway. Who are these casuals and what do they do? Do they not shoot back? Do they shoot slower? Do they only run in straight lines and never jump? Define casual. Every time I shoot at someone they seem to want to kill me. i guess I keep getting stuck playing against tryhards. In all seriousness, this is a FPS. Everyone is trying their best to kill you. Just because someone mops the floor with you doesn’t make them a tryhard or you a casual. It just means they are better at the game.
