Wanna play Reach but Xbox 360 child account issues

Right now, I want to play Reach more than I ever have in my life. I was able to play it before, on the 360 and One. A couple days ago, I tried to play it, but when I signed in to my account, a message appeared saying my “parent account is invalid” and that I should “use a different parent account to change this profile’s settings” with two options: Change parent account or play offline.

If I select “change parent account,” on the One, the game just crashes, and if I do it on the 360, it takes me to the parent account change menu where I can’t select anything and can’t use the Xbox guide, so I end up having to restart the Xbox.

I am aware of the reason for this issue: I have a child account and the 360 doesn’t like child accounts anymore. The obvious solution is to promote it to an adult account, but I can only do this on the 360 with Xbox live, something I can’t do because the only way I can even use my profile is to use it offline. I have scoured the internet for a solution for this, and only found solutions that worked back before the One existed. So now I come here, hoping that some of the Halo community has had this issue and found a way to fix it.

Please help.

You could cancel your current XBL subscription, then re-subscribe for an adult account.

Can’t you do this online on Xbox.com?

Wouldn’t that reset my achievements and game progress and stuff?

Perhaps, but I want to do this here as well.

Nope. All that stuff is tied to your gamer tag.

Okay, that’s good. So how exactly do I do this?

You can go to live.com, login, and do it from there. You can also contact Xbox support for detailed instructions on how to do this if you can’t figure it out yourself. A Google search would be similarly helpful.

The general discussion is meant for Halo and Xbox topics, as written in the description, so I am allowed to make a topic about this. Plus, Xbox.com is very hard to navigate and it’s an absolute pain to find the forums, and not many people even use those forums, anyway.

I just want to know if fellow Halo fans know anything about this issue since they obviously use their Xboxes a lot and are more prone to have this issue.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. What I meant was that you can convert your child into an adult account on Xbox.com or at least unblock your child account from whatever it is that you want to do.
