While I sadly did not have the privilege to be selected for the Flight last weekend, I watched and analyzed a lot of video content. Infinite looks amazing, but it really bothers me that normal enemy movement does not show up on the minimap. What is crouching for then? It’s not like Halo maps provide a lot of cover for crouching players. Sprinting is also too slow to justify trading it for visibility on the enemy’s map. There are some contradictions I see in connection to this, what do you guys think?
I agree, the lack of radar for walking players was a interesting choice that I don’t necessarily agree with.
In bot arena it wasn’t really that much of a issue.
But after playing about 10 matches of PvP last night you really start to notice it’s absence.
I’m really hoping they look into changing this as it is tooo easy to get flanked by groups of players. With the lower TTK too, you don’t really get time to react to it either. Really leaves you out to dry
from someone who actually played I agree but it doesn’t bother me since Halo Infinites action is taking place when you arent sprinting. You can’t do any action out of sprint besides sliding so it’s not like the new change doesn’t make sense but still, I wish crouch made us invisible. But where I do disagree is saying that there isn’t a lot of cover for crouching. There are tons of different spots on the 3 maps I played on that provide cover specifically for crouchers. And usually, the areas that don’t provide crouch cover usually cover your whole body or the area is meant for you to have an all-out brawl and have it.

When it comes to crouch-cover, I have to admit that I don’t have a full picture. From the footage I watched, I had the impression that most cover would be full-body anyway.

I’ll give you a few reasons for crouching without the radar benefit: on Bazaar there’s a vent you can only access by crouching and it’s perfect for escaping danger another is on Recharge there where the Blue base plasma carbine is where by crouching you are not visible to enemies due to visibility on ground level so crouching has benefits besides the obvious sliding and radar perks.
I’m fine with it as is. In competitive play radar is usually removed entirely. Didn’t really use it much while I was playing Hi.
In days of bigger and better screens, better sound set or Head phones peeps should learn to Rely on the surrounding. I never watch radar as it distracts me alot. So for me This is perfect solution. KEEP IT THAT WAY 343 PLZZ😁

There are no radar perks, which is why I opened this thread. Fair points for the map-specific crouch usages.

If it stays away in competitive, I’m good. It would be a logical move for a more hardcore mode. For social, I think a more effective radar, like all other Halo’s, is better. Infinite is aiming to be the most welcoming Halo, while also appeasing long-term fans. The old radar achieves both, I think.
