Why won’t it load me in?

Friend is playing, I join his fireteam. He is playing warzone and there is space as the game is not full.

It won’t load me in, and this is not the first time it happened.

I think it has to do with the skill based matchmaking. It takes me well over 10 minutes to find a lobby but when I’m with my dad or I’m on a smurf account, I’m in within 10 seconds.

There may be another player loading into the game who was ahead of you in the queue. Your friend may not be able to see that player loading in.

Na, this was for nearly an entire 5 round warzone match. And it happens frequently. Sometimes there is several spaces available and none get filled.

I have experienced this lots, both waiting to join and also being in the game and friends are waiting to join me.

Very recognisable problem and you pretty much always end up waiting until the match is done…
I think it puts you in a queue with matchmaking players but doesn’t give you priority so it’s a small chance at succes. I got in multiple times if multiple spots were open.

Now I’m used to going spectator instead and putting some saucy commentary about there plays and just joining the next match.

What I do I launch a Custom Game before I join my friends, it’s a bug that happens to me and doing that pretty much prevents it from happening

Probably because there is another player waiting to join and that may take longer to join a game that has already started.

is how halo 5 works, you will never join a match already started if you join in a fireteam except in customs

Sadly you have to sit it out. But if you have trouble with the first match, back to menu and press Campaign but don’t continue. Return to the menu again and it says something about the Lobby. And in the bottem right it says Left Fireteam. Its usually for me that in arena when i leave after 15 minutes of “searching” that i come out of the other server.
Ranked > social and vice versa. The trick must be done multiple times to work.

I thought they had already fixed it

Definitely not fixed. Have just been playing it and same thing happened to me, and another friend.
