Downloaded Definitive Edition a few days back to throw back old times.
Skirmish and any single player mode works perfect, however when trying to play anything online it says ‘waiting on xbox live’ the weird part- every night after around 9pm it works, the next morning I get the message again all through the day??
NAT Type is open and I have no restrictions?

Sounds like this would be something related to either your Xbox Live privacy settings or more likely your home network settings. Might be worth reaching out to Xbox Live support and see if they can help your troubleshoot
Yeah im also getting this exact same problem. after 9pm halowars workd but before that it say waitimg on xbox live… the funny thing is all my friends are able to play it all day tho, i tried clearing game cache, hard rest logging in and out of different profiles and even uninstall and reinstalling the game. someone please helppppppppp

Same i reinstalled and hard reset it still wont work

I am also having the same problem. It has been going on since July 27th for me and I can’t play multiplayer.
Despite this being an old thread, going to ahead and use it for my purposes.

Aye it’s nice to see an official response even on such an old game,there’s still many of us that love this game allot & im happy to see allot of us are speaking up about the multiplayer issue

I just logged on and it’s happening again I was able to play earlier today but not now
Not working for me right now either
I am also having this issue, played about with my firewall settings and restarted a few times, all i’m getting is "Waiting on Xbox Live…"
This is the first time i have tried playing on the windows store version as i am usually an xbox player.
Been waiting all day to play online and I’m just getting “waiting on xbox live” I’ve cleared cache, reset my router and checked for updates and still nothing!!!
