Waiting Is Boring, but Enjoying the Moment

Here I am. Waiting for any news of Halo Infinite. I enjoyed the last news from Halo’s live streams, which were about the making of the trailer and the Slipspace engine. Other than that, we don’t know much. We have a lot of speculation, and I’m not interested in speculation. Most speculations will be wrong, and I prefer that they’re mostly wrong. I look forward to new ways to play Halo. I like playing Halo in a different way, so that’s why I’m excited for 343’s new approach to Halo 6. That’s also why I enjoyed 343’s Halos. Again, there isn’t much to tell, and I’m still waiting. My excitement often dies out to a monotonous silence of secrecy. But I’m fine for now with MCC.

We only learned a little bit. I was pleased to know that Halo: CE was used as their inspiration for the trailer. I did feel lost in the Halo Infinite trailer, and I had so much questions. That was the same feeling for Halo: CE when I played it for the first time. I wonder what kind of spin they’ll put on Infinite. I don’t like speculating, so I think it’s safe to say that Halo Infinite will have a mysterious atmosphere. I wonder of Metroid inspired Halo in some way. I want to go… “What is that??? I didn’t know that a Halo could do this.” I know there are many ways to make Halo fresh. I mean, it’s a sandbox game, and more the sandbox, the more we can do. The animals in the trailer were interesting. Halo Reach had some creatures, and I think they were the only time that interactive creatures appeared in a Halo game. Some other creatures have appeared, but only as a cameo or as a background. I wouldn’t expect too much animals in game. Just a thought.

The Slipspace engine is probably the most mysterious news of all. We’ve seen it in action in the trailer. It looked very smooth and lifelike. The trailer was also to show its early capability of the engine. What? Early capability??? I still have no idea what the engine’s capability or goal is. Yes, I know it can do its trailer very well. I know that it will do 4 player splitscreen, which is awesome. That’s all we know. That bores me, but that’s okay. Another news that made me think was Crackdown 3’s Azure cloud. I learned that it was a cloud based destruction physics, so Microsoft was testing its technology into innovation. This news made me even more curious about the technological development of Slipspace engine. It makes even more sense that 343 made a new engine. Frank O’Conner describes Infinite as “capacious.” The old engine had unwanted restrictions. The new engine was created to meet Microsoft’s more current product. That’s not what only interests me. Interestingly, Microsoft spent so much money on Azure, Crackdown 3, and Slipspace. Obviously, the safest option is to modify the old engine and ship Halo 6 last year for its 3 year cycle. Now, Halo Infinite is in progress indefinitely (jk, it’ll be released when it’s ready). Microsoft is taking the opportunity to showcase their innovation, and we will see this in games as well. There’s been a lot of delays, but Microsoft doesn’t seem too concerned. At this point, we’ll have to wait to see how much creativity 343i has. Indeed, their imagination is the limit.

Sorry for the long read. As you can see. I’m bored of waiting for Halo Infinite. Other than that, I’m good. Boring is better than chaos. Any thoughts?
