Waiting for the day Warzone comes back

Im sure this won’t happen until 343i get their crap together in Infinite until stable condition. But as of so far, Halo 5 is definitely offered the best company-created mode: Warzone, being the mode players in came back to play.

Warzone was the literally birth of 343i to throw whatever they want into the mode, and they did. Within Halo 5, we lost literally hundreds of weapons and vehicles including their unique and cool variants such as ONI, Hannibal, Needle warthog, and legendary guns. This including encouraging people to play to their liking without worrying about winning or losing.

It always felt great to see everyone roll in with whatever they have was always exciting. This was a mode that encouraged players to go play their own way and offered a lot of replayability. Even though forge is coming back even better, I hope 343i intend to put a variation of Warzone back one day. All that content in the mode going to waste. Maybe just bring Halo 5 to PC one day instead actually.

sadly it seems they are pushing for unoriginal trend fest halo trendfinite aka releasing battle royale

I dont think its likely especially if they go for battle royale instead

Well a battle royale wont work with that 5 weapon sandboxes they have. Maybe its still an opportunity to bring back weapons again.

Think I was reading that Tatanka is a mix of BR, warzone, and firefight, not a straight up br that’s already been done. I mean it’s been leaked the banished are coming to mp, might even end up being better than warzone itself.

Can’t really say either way until we see the new modes, although 343 needs to bring as much classic modes as possible along with the new, including classic maps which has been hinted at

I seriously can’t fathom why people like warzone. It was by far one of the worst things to come to Halo. Do you people not realize it’s the whole basis for microtransactions? You couldn’t even use a majority of the content in that game unless you either payed for it or got lucky. All the enemies were bullet sponges and that’s not to mention that there was hardly any variation in regards to what was fought for essentially years.

Allow me to welcome you to the waiting room for one-off Halo gamemodes to return, you’ll fit right in with the fans of Invasion, Generator Defense, and Spartan Ops

Warzone was OK… If any game mode needs to come back for infinite it’s BTB dominion… Dominion was the best BTB game and it would have been epic if warzone worked more like dominion and not based off that borderline (well parcticlly) pay to win req system.

I never played Warzone that much but I do like Warzone Firefight. Now it was pretty hard to complete without dying, but so was the other Firefight iterations

The Warzone concept itself was pretty neat once you take microtransactions out of the picture. It gave you interesting weapon variants and colorful weapon skins.

I think I spent most of my time in H5 playing Warzone Firefight and leveling up my SR. Good times.

Paid for it, “got lucky”, or put in the time to earn it.

Amusingly, you don’t see that “paying for it” is but one option.

They are focus on competitive

It would take a seriously long time to get lucky for the good stuff.

The system was designed in such a way that playing for the stuff you want is unattractive, with the grind being long by design to push you into buying REQ packs so that you can bypass the grind and be competitive in Warzone.

They have done a similar thing with Infinite, in that levelling up your Pass is a pain when the challenge is “Get 12 headshots with the Pulse Carbine during a Full Moon, and when standing on your head in a corner.” Swaps are finite, and cost money for more, but you can also buy BP levels if you really want to. The system is designed to extract money from players.

I barely ever used my legendary items and I still was having a lot of fun. Of course it was their way to introduce microtransactions, but sure enough it wasn’t a “pay to win” game if that’s what you are seeing. For a game called “Warzone”, 343i tended to make the mode as balance as they can. You were probably playing the game wrong if you don’t see the appeal of it. Then again, it isn’t for everyone.

Besides, I think I used most of my cards mainly in Warzone firefight anyways? It was like the safe way out to still use your cards for fun without anxiety of it being destroyed in a few minutes.

Hardly.

Halo 5 granted REQ points very generously; I would earn up to four Gold packs an hour and I’ve never felt that spending real money for REQ packs was a requirement.

Perhaps this would be the case if Warzone were the only thing Halo 5 had to offer, but it wasn’t. You could play with these weapons and variants freely via Arena modes, custom games, or Forge.

Regardless, though paying for REQ packs can expedite the completion of your REQ collection, Warzone matchmakes players by the cards they have available to burn. Someone who pays to pad their collection is more likely to face others who do the same, or have accrued a complementary arsenal by regular means.

I hope not and I don’t understand why people would want a mode that is designed around selling you stuff.

It would fit right into Infinite though :facepunch:

Well, myself and MANY others are still waiting for something as basic as Ranked Team Slayer. If that isn’t even a thing, I think you’ll be waiting a long, long time I’m afraid…

Yessir love old school modes every gamerepeats im tired

Yea I honestly did not mind the micro transactions in H5 as much as some people did. I mainly played arena so when I did hop into warzone or warzone firefight I had tons of reqs available all for free just from playing. The thing that did annoy me was unlocking armor pieces through the req packs but even with this, compared to infinite, you could fully customize your Spartan for free just by playing the game so overall better imo. Warzone was such a fun mode, I really wish they had expanded on it in infinite but I don’t think it is ever coming back. I put in like 700hrs into H5 and didn’t realize how good I had it at the time. Wish I could go back to 2015-2016 and really enjoy that game again.

The only thing I disliked about the microtransactions was that it was including the cosmetic shop. If it was purely warzone, I wouldn’t mind. But RNG armor made it less unique since its chance and not earnship.

Same here. Loved warzone of Halo 5. You found always matches in no time. Lot of people played it.

I would love this. Honestly btb 2.0 should have just stayed warzone and then keep btb like it used to be. There’s nothing unique in btb besides pelicans dropping in vehicles and ordnance drops. Warzone had way more innovative stuff to make it unique.

I loved how you could play it the way you wanted. You could benefit the team without having to slay the whole game. The req system was unique and fun. I just hope it makes a return. It really was something special imo. Only issue was the lack of maps and maps being way to similar
