I don’t want AAs back or bloom unless it’s tweaked a lot to help to prevent randomness.
AA and Bloom is entire disaster to Reach. Bungie tried to implement new changes but it ended in failure. It resulted entire imbalance in the online playing and messed up Halo core mechanics. IMO
So in other words, we don’t want those back.
I want my bullets to go where I aim.
And I want my power-ups to be picked up, not spawned with.
Kthxbai.

This is reassuring!
That’s right, if we have to have abilities they should be one-use pickups like in Halo 3 - in fact, let’s just have H3 equipment back. It was fine how it was, a lot better than the AAs. One-time use prevented stupid spamming, and things like the bubble shield offered unique tactical situations.
And, of course, a Spartan-II should be able to hold his damn gun straight. Like he did in Halo 1, 2 and 3. If there is bloom it would be a canonical nightmare.

Equipment was much more interesting and fun, and much less frustrating than AAs. It added much more variety, too. I don’t know why they changed the formula in the first place.
There should be Sprint, but nothing else from Reach.
I didn’t mind either, so if they came back, cool. If not, whatever.

I agree, however I wouldn’t necessarily call the opposite “crap”, like the OP suggested.
It should also be noticed that Frankie hates AA’s, save for Sprint. Just a thought…
NO

Why should we have sprint?
With proper map design, sprint is unnecessary. Look at Halo 1, 2 and 3. Not to mention ODST. They had big maps and huge areas (The Ark, anyone? Sandtrap? Headlong?), but sprint was unnecessary because the maps were designed right from the get-go.
AAs and Bloom how they were in Reach? Of course not, that would be silly. However, similar things could work in Halo 4 if designed right.
For example, sprint and evade (and maybe even a jetpack-ish thing) could have all been included as a basic gameplay feature, just like crouching and jumping, without some weird and silly strap on thing. This would add new abilities for a player without Reach’s problem of players not starting a match as equals.
Even bloom could have been beneficial if designed right and put on the right weapons. It should have never been put on weapons that are suppose to be precision, semi-auto weapons. However bloom should have been used for automatics to allow them to be more accurate at range. Take the AR, the first few shots should be about dead center to where you are aiming, but as you hold down the trigger the reticule should slowly expand to show your shots are becoming much less accurate. This would encourage AR users to fire in short burst so they can stay accurate at longer ranges, or at least till they can close the gap. In Reach, the reticule was fully bloomed after about 3 shots, so it was pretty useless at range.
I love bloom, but unfortunately it’s not for everyone. If they had optional bloom I would nerdgasm.

If equipment was a pickup with a single use, it would mean players would spawn equal, and map flow could be influenced by equipment placement - eg. Grav Lift in High Ground.
I just can’t imagine bloom being at all sensible in Halo 4. The Chief has never had issues before, and now he’s getting NEW armor, which should be better - how can he all of a sudden not hold a gun straight?

Frankie, the bald eagle of Halo <3

Oh, and with no stupid armor abilities, those are places we can have vehicle sections!

YAY! Hopefully he wont put up with someone reccommending things like AL 2 for Halo 4.
AA yes
bloom not really

Another thing that made equipment better is that is was all easily identifiable. As soon as someone tossed it at you, you knew what it was. You didn’t get that with armor abilities…well you could usually identify a jetpack, but all the others were unknown until a person was already using it. And even if you say “well, they had different colors” most of the time you approached someone face-to-face and would never see their AA thing.
Also, equipment could always be stopped and destroyed, no armor lock type thing where you had to say “well, I guess I’ll just wait here till it goes away”.
