Wait? Where's the planet?

In the end of halo 5 guardians and the begining of halo infinite there is a planet very visible from the ring.

Why can’t we see it during gameplay? From the part where your just starring at the ring in space waiting for fernando to pick you up, or being on the surface of the ring its self.

I think Cortana realised Atriox had the ring so blind jumped to an unknown location to better protect the galaxy from its destructive power. Then crashed the guardian into it to disable any chance of moving or firing the ring. The Chief and any debris probably got dragged through slipspace within the rings gravitational field.

At least that’s what I’m going with :+1:

You’re right, the ring was moved.

The ring was moved. The Banished mention about being lost and stuck here several times. Not sure what prevents them leaving via Slipspace. But they don’t seem to be in contact with the rest of the Galaxy.

In the audio logs it’s mentioned that the Silent Auditorium exploded but there isn’t specifically a mention of the ring entering Slipspace. I think at one point they mention being surprised that something this scale could move. So possibly these happened at the same time, or it wasn’t a standard Slipspace jump. If you’ve seen Halo Wars 2 it’s pretty obvious when the ring does this.

Because when Zeta Halo was severely damaged, it initiated “emergency slipspace jump”, taking everything around it(including Banished ships, UNSC debris and the Master Chief who was drifting in space) with it to an unknown location.

Wouldn’t that of torn the chief apart? Like it did jorge-052?

I think 343 has amnesia and each game they release does not build upon that last. Trilogy my grunt.

Well, whatever happened, I just hope it didn’t receive the same fate as Doisac.

You have to kind of know where you, or what you’re aiming at.

It’d be like dropping you randomly in the middle of the ocean, but with no stars, no compass or anything. Just your sails.

You know, Forerunner tech is so advanced…

No, if you read First Strike by Eric Nylund the Chief and Blue team fought a small skirmish on top of a ship passing through slipspace. It was difficult but it was proven to be possible.
