DIdn’t we see it in the OG gameplay trailer on the floor?
other than what everyone here has speculated on this image from Game informers first mission has anyone at 343 Confirmed it is what it is?
The most that has been destroyed of the UNSC are Frigates and Destroyers assigned to UNSC Infinity’s fleet. I highly doubt that massive ship has been destroyed by the Banished, best bet is it’s still trying to avoid Cortana’s forces in order to formulate a plan.
Nope, they said in the 44-minute video discussion by Gamer Informer that (SPOILER):
the infinity was breaking apart in the opening of the game
And Cortana’s forces are nowhere to be found. Something has happened to her and that’s one of the many mysteries we’ll find out on Zeta Halo.
Yeah in the first trailer a ton of ships were wiped out in the holograms.
Not to mention the numerous (I believe 8?) frigates that the Infinity carries, as well as the hundreds of Pelicans and Condors. To think that everyone on board dies… Nah.
Still, shout out to IGN for being the worst game journalists and spoiling a major plot point, hinted at or not.
What about the Infinity class sister ship ? There was two of them that were created unless more has been built.
The Eternity hadn’t actually been built. Parts meant for it were used to repair the Infinity following events from Halo: Escalation, but the full ship itself still isn’t done as far as we’re aware.
I must’ve missed this detail its not very forthcoming at all from what I remember it, this spoiler came with a little bit of shock. Especially that it wasn’t the Created.
Meh. There are a few ways to do stuff like that from lore standpoints. The fun part is figuring out both why and how to do these sorts of things.
If a story is well written, then a “spoiler” doesn’t actually spoil anything.
I hope you come back to twitter soon
Yes it does. You could take the most well written story of all time, and it could still be “spoiled” by some nishum revealing major plot points to people who haven’t had a chance to experience that reveal for themselves. It is the experience that is spoiled, not the story itself.
TBH I wouldnt be surprised if Infinty being destroyed is a red herring and instead it just took a lot of damage and is now being commanded by atriox
I didn’t really think that was a spoiler. I mean, we’ve known they lost the war and there was that image showing all the deceased tags popping up. I’ve been under the assumption it went down for a while now.
That being said, I’m happy about it. To each their own, but I always thought the story worked best with humanity at a big disadvantage so you’re always wondering how they’re gonna pull it off and win. The Infinity was just this juggernaut of a ship that we literally saw burst through a covenant cruiser. Always kind of lowered the stakes for me having that around.
If the value is in the instant, then it doesn’t have value beyond that.
Even if it’s spoiled prior to consuming, if it has substance you will still feel an emotional response when the plot twist occurs. This is why so many shows/movies feel hollow is when they bank on the big reveal and not the bookends of what makes that event significant.
It’s safe to say that at least in this case there is emotional equity and that leads to more questions than answers.
You’re missing the point.
That first experience of revelation is ours to have, and to experience. To have someone spoil it absolutely steals that moment. Example: my wife knew that Cortana was going to betray the Chief in Halo 5 before it happened. She said nothing, and so that moment was not spoiled for me. Playing Halo 5 again, I know that it’s coming, yet it still has emotional gravity and impact, despite knowing what’s going to happen. But if she had told me before getting there that Chief gets betrayed, that whole moment would have been spoiled.
That is the impact of spoilers. It robs and spoils that moment, not the event itself.
