Wait to drop Free to Play

Let those who purchase the full game have access to both the campaign and or multiplayer a week or so in advance of making it free to play. This creates incentive for those wanting to play the multiplayer to buy the game, and also lets those who buy the game experience the calm before the storm of F2P halo players. Just a thought

you can probably experience that with an upcoming flight or closed beta for people who preorder the game or something.

We need the F2P players though. They will be easy targets >:)

Flight acceptance isn’t guaranteed, but preordering the game would be a good implantation for this as well.

… aren’t we all F2P players since the multiplayer doesn’t seem to be for sale?

thats another issue though, it will draw them astray from halo infinite because there wont be able to be accurate sbmm for the first few games.

No. I’d rather we all get to play it at the same time. Let’s get the stress test of the servers over from the get go. Thats what I’m assuming you meant by calm before the storm ? Or did you mean something else?

I don’t think there is any need for that. They need to give us solid benefits for buying the game, not something inconsequential like early access.

nah i meant let there be a short period where fans of halo who are willing to purchase the game have access to it before those who are just gonna experience the f2p aspect, kind of like an award almost for paying full price for a story mode.

oh ok. Nah. Not for it. There’s probably going to be F2P players spending more on the customization stuff you could pay for than paying full price for the story mode.

I guess that this could be a solid incentive to buy the campaign, but personally I’m not really for it. I absolutely do not like how Battlefield 2042, as one example, lets you get a full week of early access to the game for spending $30 more for a premium edition. It just seems predatory and preys on consumer’s fears of potentially missing out or being behind from the get-go. If the game is ready to go then let everyone that you want to play the game be able to play the game. There is no need or reason to charge people for the privilege of having a few extra days of playtime.

I don’t really see how this benefits anyone.
If anything its asking for negative press and backlash.

Its not really a reward for “fans” as it is just a reward for people who are poor at managing their expenditure.
I for example have a collectors edition of 2 3 reach 4 and 5. As well as most books and a hard copy of CE and odst.
I have no intention of buying infinite as it is on gamepass.

I believe that this is a bad take. It doesn’t benefit the consumer whatsoever to artificially delay the product to people who didn’t buy the campaign. It punishes people for not buying the campaign instead of giving benefits for purchasing the campaign.

Remember when MCC was coming to PC, and there were a few deranged people who said “Halo is an xbox franchise only, it should never come to PC” or something like that? That’s the same type of thing. It literally doesn’t help xbox players to prevent the game they love from reaching more people.

Back to the topic at hand: What benefit is there? Maybe it benefits 343 Industries, as people who want the game early might buy it, but I think it’s a misguided idea that people who have waited six years can’t wait a week. Also, isn’t it bad for us as well? We lose a heck of a lot more people, for a week. Not to mention, there would be backlash that would far outweigh the little bit of money they’d make from such a decision. Halo Infinite needs to have good reception at launch, and I think it will.

In summation: I do think it’s a great idea to have some sort of tangible multiplayer-focused benefits to actually paying the full sixty dollars for the campaign. HiddenXperia suggested in one of his recent videos that campaign owners should get the first around ten complete battle passes in exchange for buying the campaign. It’s a pretty good deal, and it incentivizes people to buy the campaign early on

I like the way you think lol. Let them all in.

i have a feeling they’ll be working on it every day till it releases. they could push the release date of the MP back, maybe, but that would be an obviously money grubbing move and would earn lots of negative karma, unfortunately.

Nah, this is non-sense and unfair. Preorder bs like isn’t really needed to hype people up.

It works with Forza Horizon, I have bought the Ultimate edition with the last 2 games and will do with 5 partly because it comes with early access.
