Wait For Future Content Before Buying.

Ultimately in the end, it’s up to what you get most out of Halo that determines whether or not you buy it. Some players are perfectly fine with what they are given at the release date. You are guaranteed the campaign and multiplayer matchmaking, as limited as it’s going to be for a while. If you can’t wait and want to jump straight into the action, there will be stuff for you to do at launch.

However, what I want to see in Halo 5 is the rest of the game variants and features that we love become implemented before handing Microsoft my hard-earned money.

The following do not exist at launch. In terms of custom games and matchmaking, neither are present. If any information is incorrect, feel free to correct me. There’s plenty more material that could be thought of to add to this list.
-Forge (December 2015)
-Infection (Unknown)
-Oddball (Unknown)
-King of The Hill (Unknown)
-Race (Unknown)

The few gametypes I listed are just an example of ones that have stood out throughout the years, and I’m sure the community can list countless additional gametypes to be added to the list. The overall point to be made from this is that players should wait to see what is released before throwing their money by the wayside. This philosophy is mainly influenced by the reputation of the previous Halo games under 343’s charge.

In short, I would advise waiting for the release of the main developer content before spending your money. It’s simply not worth it to buy a product out of hype then become disappointed later down the line. For those of you who will be online tomorrow, enjoy yourself for sure, play the hell out of campaign, unlock some armor, -Yoink!- your enemies, and I look forward to joining everybody else when more interesting content becomes available.

forge was good idea on previous games not that i used it, but other game modes you listed I didn’t really play so don’t matter to me. so like you said if its not for you best not to buy

None of those “make” halo
Forge is great
Those other gamemodes are fun
but none of those made Halo what it is.
They aren’t key features like Campaign or Multiplayer…

I feel like King of the Hill could be considered a gamemode considered sort of core to the multiplayer, but you are still right that they didn’t make Halo what it is. And at least when I played Reach the race playlist was practically dead which is a darn shame since I really wanted to play it. Oh well though I guess.

Agreed

I’m getting it day one
Best buy gives you 10 bucks back for pre ordering…so worth it for that price at launch more modes/maps will come later

I’m with you. I’m all about the custom games and without these gametypes there’s not much for me.

Fallout 4 on my PC. Ill keep the XBone money for something else.

I’m quite content with the content at launch.

Game types are not content.
