I vote for no voting of maps. Why not just let everyone choose which map they would like to play. I know that I and others will bail out if we don’t get the map that we would like to play. Bailing out on an unwanted map causes more unnecessary network activity because now the system has to not only fill the empty space you just left but now it has to find a new spot for you too. I think that choosing the map you want would make for a much more enjoyable experience and dramatically help the entire network system. VOTE for NO VOTING. I for one would rather wait for other players that want to play the same map as I then be out voted and be forced to play a map I don’t want to play, like Solice, I will shut down my system before I play Solice.
I’m only suggesting that everything stays the same as far as available game types and or maps available, I would like to see the addition of a drop down menu to select any map that you would like. I think that there are more than enough people online to fill every game type and every map. Just my opinion and or preference.

You mean, like having hosted rooms with a gametype and map availables like Halo CE for PC and the first Gears of War?
I vote for no. This is mainly because I started playing FPSs with The Conduit on the Wii. That game was very barebones, but it had a system to where everyone can choose whatever he/she wanted to play. Also, the game would choose what is played based on probability. If one map had more votes than another, it was more likely that that map would be played. The main problem with this system was that SO MANY PEOPLE would vote for one particular map ALL OF THE TIME. It offered very little variety in matchmaking because of this system, and matchmaking got very stale because of this. If this was implemented into Halo, it would be the exact same outcome. Everyone would constantly vote for one particular map, and there would be no variety in the map or gametypes.
I’m talking about selecting a game type like SWAT or TEAM SLAYER etc… just like you do now and then being able to select from all the available maps currently available under that category instead of voting on just 3 maps to choose from just show all maps available under that game type.
Or just go back to the Veto system, that way everyone would play every map. (take out backing out of lobbies) The best way to find out that you like a map, is to play on it,
I vote “yes” to voting rights.

how was conduit overall? I’ve heard a lot of different opinions of that game. bare bones is fine. while I don’t think halo needs to go back to the gameplay from a decade ago, i’d love to see an xbone version of all of them, and ce and 2 were pretty barebones… so that doesn’t mean bad.
I miss the Halo 2 and sort of even 3 system of matchmaking. Voting promotes less variety. It’s a good idea but the second you put it into the hands of the masses it just doesn’t work. One or two things always get voted for. Remember when Halo 3 launched and people vetoed everything that wasn’t shotty snipers until Bungie had to take it out of the Team Slayer playlist? Remember when Bungie had to take Swat out of the Team playlist in the Reach beta because it was the only thing getting voted for and they weren’t getting enough data for the other gametypes? And now 343 has to regularly change up the voting options because people only vote for Exile in Big Team or Ragnarok in CTF.
