Voting "None of the Above" Not present?!?!

Hey, guys. I wanted to hear your opinion on the lack of a none of the above option being in matchmaking. For your reference, this is a link to 2 hours of Halo 4 footage played by none other that tSquared himself. Note that, during the pre-game lobby, only 3 map options are shown: Twitch tv link

Do you guys want to have this option in a future patch. Sound off with a reply.

Also, check out some of the other discussions that have ben started in order to bring future patch ideas to the attentions of 343:
Secondary weapon not shown in UI
No sprint meter

You guys rock. Keep up the great community!!!

Nah games took to long to start cause of that. Much faster this way.

Just another tick on the list of things removed by 343i apparently. Disappointing, they put so much effort into matchmaking, and it does show, but they near ruined every other aspect of Halo with everything they took out.

Halo 3 voting system master race! Fast votes, changed both map and game mode. Everyone happy!

QFT.

“…we are treating Title Updates very differently for Halo 4 and rather than simply using them as opportunities for simple big fixes, we are thinking of them as a way to sustain and grow features and options,” says BSAngel in the latest weekly update. Remember guys, you could see these things changed in a future patch!

It might help against playing the same three maps over and over again.

now people will pick the most lopsided map and gametypes ever, and those three will be the same ones to appear, every time. woho.

Voting system is flawed either way. At least without “None of the Above” we’ll be less likely to play the same games over and over and over.

The problem with the ‘none of the above’ option was that people sometimes voted for that simply to waste time. It also meant that players played the same painful matches game after game. I welcome this change very much.

Guess we’ll just have to pick something. They might add the option later but just have it the way it is to promote usage of initially reccomended maps and gametypes.

They Don’t need it because the playlists are gametype specific now.

You are only voting for maps anyways. Your gametypes are always the same when you select a playlist its just a matter of what map you want to play on.

There are two great reasons why the removal of the “none of the above” option is a great thing. The first reason proves the above quote ^ false.

  1. A none of the above option gives players 6 browsing options to find their favorite map (like Uncaged or Asylum) and always play those ones, thus making the playlist MORE lopsided. What only three options does, is force the players to pick a map even if they all suck. This gives the 343i the ability to evaluate which of the initial three maps and see which one sucks MOST, rather than getting data that they equally don’t want to be played. All in all, this will let 343i better know what people want to play so they can tailor new maps to what is liked.

  2. As a few other people mentioned, it will be faster. The less time in between games, the more playing time and the longer people will stay. I often quit in (H3) when searching forever just because it is taking too long and I have time to remember “wow, I have homework!”

If you didn’t read anything above, trust me that the absence of the “none of the above” option is for the best.

your first point doesn’t even make sense, as 343 won’t be able to evaluate if the players actually like the map they are voting for or not.

Your second point isnt any better, as if you have the time to play any sort of video games, you should be able to sit in the lobby for a mere 15 more seconds. 15 SECONDS. how possibly impatient can people be?
