The DMR is just fine you nerf mongers.
It’s begun to overlap the sniper rifle’s niche, and yet it’s a starting weapon. That’s a problem.
dmr is a little op nerf the kill time to make up for the range
I started a match 4-10 or 4-11 on Haven starting with the BR with everyone else using DMRs. I switched to the DMR and finished like 11-12.
The weapon is OP/way too easy to use. It needs to be fixed. Stop trying to defend it and use a different weapon against it. You will see why everyone else hates it. It is a noob’s weapon.
I use the BR and you people need to quit whining about the dmr.
I agree, the Carbine and BR are the problems, they’re too weak!
First, buff the BR’s damage so that it’s a 4sk at close range. But in effect, make it lose power as the shot travels.
Then make the carbine a 7sk with a slightly higher ROF.
And finally, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF9-Hi67RL8
No offence I love the DMR but I also love a balanced game.
Its somewhat OP so I want it back to reach style. (bloom, fire cap)
If you people complaining die too easily against someone with a DMR than why don’t you complainers use it yourselves? And if you do use the DMR than what are you complaining about? You can find a complaint for almost every weapon in the game and I’m tired of all the DMR complaints when there is really nothing to complain about.
> I agree, the Carbine and BR are the problems, they’re too weak!
You’re either new to first-person shooters, or you’ve forgotten the days when you actually had to spend longer than 5 seconds on a kill. People have become greedy these days, expecting a constant stream of kills, and, thus, increasingly powerful weapons.
You think this is a democracy?
HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Dmr is fine as it is i have never felt that it was op
Kane, the idea of the game is to have weapons that are each best suited for it’s own niche and no other weapon of it’s rarity can beat it. But when the Carbine, a weapon made “to kill opponents utilizing increased accuracy and speed to suppress enemy fire” is less effective at suppressive fire than the DMR, “a weapon designed for sniping” You know something’s up.
Or how about the fact that the DMR is a better close range rifle than the BR, a REAL close range rifle? Really dude, THAT is not OP’d?
I really don’t feel the DMR is overpowered, and I spend most of my games on large maps, as of late.
I do feel that an entire well-communicating team can make comebacks nigh of impossible thanks to the fact that the gun can shoot literally anywhere on a map and anyone can do it thanks to the large amounts of aim assist.
That’s mostly my problem, is that the DMR needs to have its aim assist range reduced to that of the BR. People who are still aces with the gun will still be good with it, but baddies won’t have the game dragging their reticule for them for easy kills when they can gang up on one enemy with their teammates.
So, people who aren’t that great with the gun won’t be able to practically snipe with it, but the people who are actually good with it will be rewarded (and it might even improve their experience, since any time the cursor is red if an enemy intersects the viewing range of the shooter, it drags the cursor off of the intended target and its stupid the game has that much aim assist).
The rate of fire does not need to be decreased nor does the gun need to do less damage.

hahaha I use sniper rifle no scoping people 2 feet away from me like a shotgun, point null.
You can’t get a headshot with a DMR. I can take down anyone with a BR when they have a DMR at close range, it’s only when they are far away that they win which is how it is supposed to work.

No scopes at least take skill, DMR doesn’t. Point null…and I have a difficult time believing you always win with a BR up close because given how much you defend the DMR, it’s probably all you use…

Which leads me to my complaint. I think the carbine is too weak. It was much stronger in Halo 3. It wasn’t as strong as the Halo 4 DMR, but it was still a strong weapon and it was augmented with a fast rate of fire. The new carbine doesn’t fire quite as fast so its already not as powerful. Than they make it even weaker by lowering its power. Basically, I think instead of making the DMR less powerful, make the carbine more powerful.
And I don’t know about you, but I find the BR just as useful as the DMR. Its stronger than the one in Halo 3 and it may not be as strong per shot as the DMR but the BR fires three shots.
i think the only fix to the DMR that will make everyone happy, is make the BR a 4sk not 5sk

I HATED the DMR in Reach all I wanted was the Br back. Check my H4 record right now, favorite weapon BR. The only reason I am defending the DMR is because they fixed it.
I am a DMR user, and I still would love for them to patch it. They need to do something like making it fire slightly slower, or even make it have bloom when not scoped, and no bloom when scoped. These things would put the DMR into it’s niche. It wouldn’t be nerfed, it would just be fixed, it would be at the level that 343 intended it to be at. If these things were added to the DMR, then the BR would be the better mid-range and close-range weapon, in comparison to the DMR. The Assault Rifle would still however beat out the BR at close range, as intended. I remain a DMR user because I, simply put, believe it’s the best starting weapon for most situations. But it gets boring, fast. Using the same weapon. I can use the BR or other weapons, but I will feel like I could be doing so much better with the DMR. So the repetition of practically only using the DMR, gets truly annoying. I want an incentive to using other weapons, But when I use a BR to battle against DMR users in mid-range, 4 times out of 5, the DMR wins, even if all my shots are on target.
If it applies I am primarily an Oddball / Infinity Slayer player. With a bit of everything else on the side.
Haters either want all the weapons to be pea shooters or the only powerful weapon be the BR.
Nerfing the DMR will ruin the game and drive many people away from this game like Reach.
