Team damage should be on. Ranked or unranked.
I change my mind. Team damage should be on for ranked and off for social.
IMHO I see no reason to have team damage on unless the game is in some type of
Competition For Money!! Not for people that just want to play the game for fun!
Hozer, how did you endure every other Halo game? All of them had friendly fire even in social and worked just fine.
I’d rather have team damage off. I hate it when I accidentally kill a teammate, and I REALLY hate it if my teammate were to betray me for no good reason. Never saw the appeal of betraying people honestly. I want to help my team while I’m playing.
Have you ever seen how often people on the old waypoint forum where complaining about teamkillers?
And that was just the tip of the iceberg, since most are not on the forum. Teamkilling was a major problem.
Overall I like it turned on but I’m personally fine with the setup of having it off in social but on in ranked. I just wish we had more than one ranked playlist for it to be turned on in.
It’s Real Easy. I ran Custom Servers Halo Combat Evolved. Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 2A servers for 8 years. My server was called “Rocket Whores World Server” I NEVER had team damage turned in any of my maps and I never will PERIOD!
Now even tho Halo Infinite Custom Games area is still broken I turned off team damage and as 343I calls it “Friendly Fire” in all my maps. IE: BTB:CTF, BTB:NEUTRAL FLAG, ETC ETC. I will “NEVER” have friendly fire turned on in any of my maps!! Fact ![]()
I prefer friendly fire turned on, but I see that ftp necessitates that it be off, unfortunately. Griefers were not totally uncommon before, but with ftp they are an infestation.
It should be on. The good thing about it being on will be that people will think twice before spamming grenades into a group of both friends and foes. The same with slamming the gravity hammer.
I’m indifferent if it’s on or off as they both have positives and negatives, but what I want enabled is player collision.
So I can get booted for accidentally betraying some one. Followed by getting betrayed and not getting the option to boot the player and yet he bboots me when I decided to fight back for once.
No thank you.
You have never played MCC did you? People just kep nading and slamming the hammer, it never stopped them. Especially not since it wouldn’t count as a betrayal since those teammates were already under attack by the enemies closeby, so it counted as a kill for the enemy and not a betrayal. And people with the hammer will just panic and slam it because they don’t want to die, they don’t think about allies closeby.
Shooting my teammates over and over again to keep their shields cracked was something annoying that I used to do when I was younger. This would still happen in todays game if more maps had sniper rifles.
This is what we all want. Why it isn’t part of the game makes absolutely no sense!
Because also that was used to grief, when teammates deliberately blocked paths to get their teammates killed by the enemy or leave a powerweapon to the enemy. Of by pushing you in friend of an enemy line of sight or off a highpoint or even the map.
I am completely fine with no collission between teammates.
I’ve played since halo CE on Xbox came out.
And what you’re saying just proves my point. But there is still a trade-off. Which i think is good for the halo gameplay.
I think being able to hurt my teammates is an important gameplay feature that affects how the game plays in a good way.
The solution for betrayals is to implement something that keeps track of how much damage a player does to their teammates and punishes them accordingly. I don’t think this system exists in the game at all right now.
Wow… having players want FF and collision of just proves how stupid it was to go F2P. Halo always had this mechanics and if you don’t like it, move on.
But money has to come in, huh 343? no matter what…
FF means players have to be more careful with AOE weapons. Right now you can fire rockets at a cluster is teammates and enemies and only kill your opponents. It’s like a self nerf or OP check of sorts.
