A classic, unedited Jeff Steitzer like in the original Halo CE,2, and 3 with no autotune/editing (mostly noticeable in CE and 2) would be awesome. He sounds better in 5 than he did in 4, but it still sounds like he is trying a bit hard or is a bit less blunt and sharp like in CE and 2. I hope they keep Jeff as an announcer as long as they can.
Although I love his announcing voice, he is getting well into his years, and may end up not wanting to do this anymore at some point, so I would get ready for that vary real possibility.

You might be on to something there…
But there are a LOT of different possibilities to consider, and such a restriction of ‘What all can we have Jeff say to last forever?’ will only go so far. That being said, I’ve also heard a few people do some really sweet voicework that reminded me greatly of Jeff in the early Halos, so don’t worry, Jeff isn’t the only golden voice in the world.

I’m glad that this is likely going to be available, but I’d have liked the voices to be more “Classic”.

That came from an internal dev kit most likely. Halo 5 is also said to be free from the source. So it may be free, which I doubt, or it could cost actual money like every other “exclusive REQ pack”.

Jeff has said repeatedly that he wants to retire. There’s no telling how many more Halo games he’s willing to do.
