Voice commands

I do like the ability to give commands to squad-mates in Halo 5, but I was surprised to see a lack of vocal commands utilizing the Kinect. It’d be great, I think, to be able to give specific orders. Rather than having all of Blue Team storm one position, it’d be nice to say “Linda, take that position” and have her move to a good sniping roost. Or to say “Buck, get on that turret!” and have him climb on the Warthog turret rather than hoping behind the wheel.

We could also have our entire squad form up on us by saying “Blue Team/Osiris, on me!”

Lastly, if these are implemented, it’d be redundant for Chief or Locke repeat what we just said, like in Skyrim.

Voice commands are nice. But they got me killed in BF4. Sneaking up on a guy, kinect picks up on random chat, my guy yells “I need a ride,” enemy turns and kills me.

But I don’t blame 343 for lack of voice commands. Blaming Microsoft for removing the kinect as a standard. It’s like buy a car with free XM radio, but then going “Nah, not everyone wants XM radio.” But if everyone had XM radio, they would use it from time to time.

With specific voice commands, however, something like your friend saying something won’t (shouldn’t) affect the game. Nor would the enemy responsive to voice commands in Halo; imagine it like Mass Effect 3 or Skyrim.
